I don't know why I just don't see foul play being an issue.

My guess: They truly are best friends and Les understands that ND is special to college football and good for his kid to experience. Now will he have a ton of questions when he gets home, I'm sure.

If he's actually best friends with the kid of our main recruiting competition that isn't "foul play" but it's also a really bad omen. How many external influences can he withstand? Parents, friends, coaches... a lot working against ND.

I met Father Hesburgh. The guy is a legend. I always tell his SR-71 story on my admission tours.

Really wish his parents made the trip

But even LSU mods say Tillery is in aww of Notre Dame and loves it. Notre Dame has always been Tillery dream school so maybe this one will work out for us.

I totally understand the influences are against us, and by no means an I saying this kid is a stone cold lock to show up on our campus come next season. But.... He knew what he was getting himself into committing to a school outside of LSU, especially if his best friend is Les' kid. So those influences should have been expected.

This is going to be an interesting one down to the end.

Visited LSU the other day. The rolled out the red carpet and LSU feels the visit was a success.

No point in worrying over this one at all. I hope he makes it to NSD. Unconcerned at this point otherwise. Good luck with you choice Jerry, I hope you choose ND.

Why was there never quesitons asked/reports on his ND visit?

Very strange considering the drama with his recruitment.

Writing is on the wall but let's see what happens. I personally view him as a soft verbal at best.

I want Tillery to stay Irish, but if he flips, who do we see HH targeting? I imagine that it'd have to be a tackle since the other guys in the class are interior prospects.

No mention or his parents in the article if anyone was wondering.

Related to that I would remind people his Mom has been on this site before just a heads up.

I would rather have him, but we are going to be just fine at OL going forward.

Exactly. I feel like we are set at OL. the depth is pretty good so far. HH will have no problem moving forward. I hope Jerry decides to flip sooner than later if he does so we arent scrambling. IDK what other '15 OL guys we are after.

Yeah we have depth at the position and HH can recruit another, but he is our best OL in this class. Would really suck to lose him, even if he's already gone.

Are there other OL in the 2015 class whom we can offer if Tillery decides to bolt? I'm just curious to know what our backup options are in case of this happening.

I didn't read the first report closely before posting, the visit was actually "a couple weekends back" so before II

Well that’s good, having both LSU and ND fresh in his mind should help him finalize his decision regardless of which school it is.

Do you think he may be he’s "looking" at LSU as a way to alleviate pressure from those folks that are really pushing LSU?

My take:

1) Tillery is like Nix, he dances to the beat of his own drum and wants to go to ND.

2) Tillery lives in the Deep South. Everyone is obsessed with SEC football, his parents included.

3) Everyone is telling him "make sure... take your visits!" ND will understand, this is a big decision! His parents included

4) He probably has no intention of decommitting and is not even considering LSU right now, but they are making it very easy for him to take a look.

5) Kids are naive about what a professional salesperson can get you to do under the right circumstances. If he keeps on hanging around LSU he might get persuaded to decommit right at the last moment, precisely when it counts...
