If they're really going to chase him and not Waller, then that's great news. USC won't want Town to decommit, and I don't see how Waller would choose to join a class with a 5 star QB over ND's current situation. Unless Northwestern surprises us, I just got a lot more hopeful about July 1.

While I agree we're not in dire straights if we don't get a QB this cycle, it does make it imperative that we get one next year. I am in the camp that you take one every year. you just never know what's going to happen and you don't want to get caught with your pants down. USC worries me more than Oregon did.

In the last few days he's talked to Bama, OSU, and ND. Said that he hasn't talked to Oregon it awhile but he hopes they come back in the picture. Not sure when he made that quote and if he's aware that they offered somebody else already and he's still ok with it. At some point I would think this kid wakes up and says F off to everybody that keeps stringing him along.

No clue, heard different stories about this that USC staff isn't sold on Town and he could de-commit however I feel that is unlikely but that rumor is out there. I've also heard that USC views Waller as a great second QB for their class so he can sit for awhile and learn, why Waller would want to do that other than being a fan of USC is beyond me but pretty much every site mod has said be worried about USC if they offer

Town just isn't that good. Very solid pocket passer prospect, huge limitations in athletic ability. His #1 overall rating he still has on 247 is an absolute joke and is making me lose (even more) respect for that network. Many of us have been saying for awhile that we're just don't see any wow factor in his game.

Also, in the Elite 11 tryouts which should entirely cater to his abilities, he got passed over again and again and again... finally, he got the very last spot basically by default. By all accounts, for someone with the limitations he has outside of the pocket he doesn't have the arm/accuracy you expect from someone with his lofty rankings. I saw someone compare him recently to Heaps in saying he does everything "pretty good" but has no spectacular facets to his game and you would have no clue he was a 5 watching him without bias.

What about Sills? If he were to de-commit would the Irish have any interest there or is he a poor fit.

Sills is just not that impressive. USC can and should do better than him. Can't see ND being interested in him either.
