So is the truth behind the theft/assault/suspension dealio ever going to surface?

I don't understand. What else do you want to know? What "truth" are you still looking for?

Well has it been confirmed that he stole from his coach, blamed it on another kid, then bashed that kids head into a locker when that kid called him out on it?

That's about 100x worse than getting busted with molly, in my book anyway.

Agreed, although our "book" isn't the one they go by.

Difference between Crawford and Starks... Starks actually got expelled, and "drug dealing" if that story ever got picked up in earnest by some anti-ND person sounds reallllllly bad. "OMG ND recruited a drug dealer... what a bunch of (insert choice word)"

Crawford's thing is sensationalized because "assault" and "theft" sound like they do. I "stole" extra game shorts in HS... so? That's effectively what the story is out there... that he took some extra apparel.

Then someone snitched on him and there was some fisticuffs. This wasn't Campbell body slamming a security guard, this was two kids in a fight. I think that's pretty darn common and whether he punched him or pushed him into a locker I really don't care.

If it was something really serious we wouldn't be recruiting him. IMO, his actions amount to minor immaturity if it's an isolated incident.

I like the aggression and physical mindset.

If Crawford was still committed to scUM, I feel like we would be saying we dodged a bullet due to his deplorable behavior.

This is the "edge" we have been needing.

Nah, I want more thugs. Might actually get somewhere.

I'm not judging his alleged actions, just making an observation. I have no problem with what happened. At least not to the point where I wouldn't want him to attend ND for it. That said, I also would have accepted Starks' commitment.

It is a fallacy that you need thugs in order to have an attitude or indomitable spirit on your team. Competitiveness is not primarily a thug characteristic. Kev Russell is about as competitive as they come and he is also a classy young man, Zach Martin is another extremely competitive guy, hardly a thug. I could go on and on. We need competitive young men and we get them. If you mean guys that only focus on football and the weight room, that isn't going to happen at ND, thank God, there are a few schools that agree with you though.

The kid needs to get his act together because while he is talented, there are plenty of kids out there just like him. He made a huge mistake and hopefully he learns from it and makes better choices in the future.

I want to know more about the kind of kid SC is before completely jumping on the bandwagon. I'll cheer for him when he comes to ND of course, but hopefully this incident was just a one time deal.

Any insight on what kind of kid he his Sweetness?

Not picking on you Lax, but as I read that, it came across as justifying one bad incident over another. I'm all for taking Crawford if the staff wants him. That tells me they looked into this and are satisfied with what they heard from all parties.

What he did is wrong and his follow up actions were as well.

Come on Shaun, we don't have all day!

On 247, Loy posted that #13 was just a night's sleep away.

Someone asked if he could say who it was.

He replied: "Sorry. Cant."

Clever Tom being clever Tom.
