“I’m going to narrow things down by the fall. There isn’t a school that has really clicked yet, so it’s my job to gather as much info as I can,” he said. “I have to build the relationships with the coaches and see which one fits best.”

Scout just updated him to a 4* #90 overall and they think that may not be high enough. After they see move of him he may rise higher, they were very impressed with him.

Gotcha. Doesn't seem like we get very many Canadians in CFB.

Some are saying he's the best Canadian HS prospect in a long long time, maybe ever. I don't know who else would be in that category since I've only been following recruiting for 5ish years but during that time I don't know of 1 better.

Good Pull, didn't even think about that. Didn't follow recruiting back then.

There was a pretty highly ranked player a few years ago, Boseko Lokombo, who just finished his career at Oregon.

But, Gallimore appears to be the most highly ranked prospect from Canada ever. And he may end up Irish.

Oh man, that's some sweet shit right there.

Unfortunately I have not heard anything about him planning a visit to campus as of yet (please correct me if I'm wrong).

The newly minted four-star is not planning on piecing together a heavy travel schedule. Due to financial restraints, his only plans for visits this summer are to Syracuse which is only a short drive away and Michigan State which he’ll hit while on vacation.

Canadian DT Neville Gallimore earns top 40 ranking, FSU offer

He's now spent time at OSU with Meyer & Johnson in his ear, and I've heard that he's planning on using his officials to visit some of the more distant schools that have offered him, such as FSU, Oklahoma, Bama, Oregon, etc. I think securing an OV is the best indicator that ND has a shot with this guy. Until then I'm not getting my hopes up.

With two recent DT's committing and Taylor supposedly committed or committing. What does that mean for Neville's recruitment?

He's a take all the way through signing day. Most services have him pegged as a top 50 or top 100 player, I'm not sure the staff would turn that kind of talent away.

can't say for sure but IMO nothing.

I'm of the belief that Tiassum and Dew-Treadway are depth pickups who aren't going to see the field for some time and the same can be said of last years Peter Mokwuah. I would refer to these guys as Roster depth players early on in there collage career.

Whereas guy like last years recruits Cage and Hayes as well as Taylor would be guys that I would call playing depth if needed. One would hope that they wouldn't be in the 2 deep but could help early if needed.

Whereas if Gallimore is as good as they say then he's going to be good enough to get regular PT as a freshman then these pickups won't matter because a difference maker is going to be a take.

I just thought I read someplace that we would probably take 4 DL this cycle and if all 4 of them are DT, that would mean we are ok with no DE's this cycle or we end up with more than 4 DL.

They're excellent at shadow boxes. Definitely need to improve their glitter game though.

I think the staff is willing to miss on DE's to get the DT depth but all that means IMO is that they are not going to settle for anything but high-high end to elite DE's.

I believe the staff likes what they already had and what they got in the last class at DE that they are going swing for the fences in this class for DE's and if they miss that spot will go to adding more depth at DT.

This is from a poster on II. I'm not sure of the validity as he didn't say where he got it from but TJ spoke on the topic so I assume somewhat relevant. When asked about schools he'd like to visit.

"As of right now, probably the schools I'll be taking visits to are Notre Dame, Rutgers, Maryland and Syracuse. Also, most likely Michigan and Michigan State if I get the chance."

Here's TJ's take,

Yes, he would prefer to be closer to home in Ontario, Canada. So, ideally, somewhere nearer the eastern or middle of the border region, like the schools noted in the US Northeast or Upper Midwest.

We're trying to get him on campus this summer if at all possible. Otherwise, early fall for a game weekend OV.

If those are the schools he's considering, he must not be worried about playing in cold weather.

Really, really surprised that Ohio State isn't listed. I honestly (and their fans do too) considered them the biggest contender for him.

That was my biggest takeaway. I thought OSU was on his mind quite a bit from some of the older interviews he conducted.

I'm a little shocked by OSU not being mentioned, but if those are the 4 he is looking at closer right now I really like our chances. Even with UM and MSU thrown in, I tend to take away from it that we are seriously in the hunt with him.

He's already visited Ohio State, has he visited any other schools? Not sure.

Could be reason for not including them in his visits.

To be honest though, I never thought he would end up at OSU. I assumed he would end up at a warm weather school, coming from Canada, but appears I'm wrong.

Good call. He was there for the Columbus NFTC, right?

Yes. In the interviews after, he said it was too early to name any favorites. The pro-OSU interviewer was asking OSU-specific questions and Neville repeatedly stated it was too early and he didn't have enough information to name favorites. I think he's a kid who's going to do his due dilligence and will really make a good decision. He seems very thoughtful.

And in my opinion, just from watching interviews, he seems like the kind of kid who would like to be on a "smaller" (relatively) campus, where it's close knit.

Based on what I've seen if we landed this kid he would easily be one of our most athletic defensive tackles on the roster.
