Per Loy

Sources close to Reid indicate that Notre Dame is on top and the favorite to land the Keystone State standout … Also has offers from Michigan, Miami and Alabama.

Also, Loy and GB on their game tonight. Nice coming back from dinner and there's actually recruiting updates. Thanks bro!

WOW! That's awesome news. You can so tell Reid is going to be a good player. Not going to get up my hopes up though.

Reid and Crawford would be a good CB, highly rated haul, but they are not very tall.

I could be wrong, but didn't the tall corner type go out the window when BVG arrived because his style is a bit different? I thought I read somewhere that BVG wants more corners that match up in man as opposed to rangy corners who play more of a zone. Therefore, these guys at 5'9" - 5'11" are plenty tall enough if they have great instincts, mechanics, etc. Someone else could probably explain it better...I just feel like I recall a post/article about this specific comment recently.

How is it my new thing? This is the first sublet shot I've taken, lol.

To answer your question, no.

Just curious, thought I may be the first one to recognize an emerging trend. I know you weren't happy about the addition of a certain DL and then I saw this reply.

Back to John Reid: I hope we get him.

After reviewing their highlights, I actually like Crawford more. Crawford looks more explosive and looks like he has looser hips.

Why you hating on Donell Pleasant? He got game.

Well that wasn't subtle, I just don't like his film, and his offers back that up IMO. That's not anti-staff.

The post above in Reid's thread was the first shot at the staff, so I wouldn't call it a trend.

If the next commit looks great, I'll say so. If he looks like a slouch, I'll say so.

I don't think it has anything to do with me liking/not liking the staff (whom I love, btw, with the exception of Paul Longo).

But for anyone who was bothered by it, I'm sorry for making the above joke and I won't make jokes about the staff.

Of course you want super tall CBs, all else equal. But the fact is that there is generally a inverse relationship between height and quickness. Since this is college, not pro, you can get away being a little smaller.

Based on the scheme we were playing, we were getting away with being a little bigger but tighter. Based on the new scheme, we are going the other direction.

Once again, if they can get both, the coaches will take it. But you build your base in this scheme with speed.

I cannot stress enough how much I want this to happen. Add these guys to Luke, Butler, and Watkins and we have some serious CB depth that is extremely talented.

Way to speak the truth Kuehn, glad you write it fair and balanced and just tell it like it is :)

I'm not necessarily impressed by the DL commits thus far but I'm happy we've secured some projects which was more than we did in previous years.

I'm guessing the belts start to tighten now that our class should be close to halfway full.

I'm not sure I was being overly negative about your posts, feel free to post as you see fit.

You're probably right because we usually end up short and not turning any elite players away.

But I filled up the kool-aid this month, and I think ND can be more patient, at least until after II.

Going to have a huge year as far as wins IMO, new turf, new exciting QB, new camp in Irish Invasion, and they're locking up officials really early it seems.

I think this year might have the most recruiting momentum in the Kelly era, and I think it's really going to amp up after II and continue into our successful season.

So I prefer they slow down unless it's big time players, but what do I know. I'm just a clown on a message board, but I think they should at least chill until after II.

No hard feelings :).

Scout: He's staying the course with his recruitment. He really wants to take his visits then decide. He is visiting Miami soon. He spoke very highly of ND. He prefers coaches that will watch a lot of film with him, he really likes to study the game.

I like Reid but prefer Ross. However, I have no idea where we stand with Ross since nobody has any info on him recently.

I'd really like to add him to this secondary, I hope he takes his visits quickly.

Want this kid bad. Nothing like a kid who can ball, and is a well-rounded gentleman off the field.

Is still planning on taking 3 OVs, wants to see game environments in the fall and what schools are like with students there.

Doesn't want to do the hats on the table thing on NSD.

Seems to be getting a little tired of the recruiting process and has a busy fall schedule.

Most think we'll be full by the time he decides. And in a sense, we're already full.

So you're saying ND is full at the secondary and wouldn't take either of the three I mentioned above? I find that hard to believe. Those three seem to be on the elite side of things. Not sure the staff turns any of them away. But that's just my opinion.
