Hand said that last year as well and didn't even choose the better of Michigan or Bama. Also, that was an ND reporter. In all of the articles that I read from non ND sites there was very little to no mention of academics. I'll stop now because I'm not saying these things to bash the kid though its starting to come off that way. I just don't see the fit at this point.

"Academics" to the vast majority of star football players just means: a school that won't let me flunk out so I can keep playing football. They have been babied, coddled, praised for their athletics, and passed along for years. They've never been taught to give two shits about life other than sports because...well...DA LEAGUE. Their maturity and intellect are stunted from never being held accountable or ever being pushed to succeed at anything off the gridiron.

There are a select few in college football that really value what Stanford, Northwestern, and Notre Dame offer. And if ND isn't going to pump players full of steroids or vote to create a cool, hip union then our pool is even smaller.

Don't ever be fooled by a kid claiming that academics are important - even the ones who only read at a 3rd grade level (cough....O$U......cough) know that saying "I don't give a fuck about academics. I just want to go play football and get my D sucked on the reg by every skanky ho jersey chaser" won't look good.

Yeah I agree. I tend to look for the guys who don't go out of their way to talk about academics. If a recruit says he is looking at academics, I am all "whatever dude"---total red flag.

Yeah mine wasn't a critique of him specifically. It was a generic criticism about high school athletes transitioning into college. But I'm not going to take over a recruit's thread with my personal bugaboos.

His four OV's are going to be Texas AM, OSU, UCLA, USC. That's as of Monday. Ill bet you all my Vbucks he doesn't end up at Standford or ND. Then we can another one of these convos about how those four schools have great education for football players.

OSU and Texas AM are two officials that are set at this point. The thinking is USC and UCLA will get also get officials but thats not set at this point. Will take unofficials this summer to determine who will get those last 3 OV's.
