that's why i said those who are in the bodybuilding community would "get it"
for reference: Bodybuilding is the use of progressive resistance exercise to control and develop one's musculature
his upper body is huge compared to his size of legs...it is just a joke!! it's like the picture of a hot girl and then saying wouldn't have sex w/ her because she has pointy elbows etc...here is reference to it.. Skipping Leg Day | Know Your Meme
Legs >>>> Arms in about any team sports.

delt workout
his dad sure looks like a hoss
Ok I am not huge by any means, but he is doing Military presses on a Smith machine of 205lbs.. I am 5'8" 160 lbs and can do that at 195lbs 10 times.. So he definitely needs to get stronger. Those cable fly's he is doing is like 15, maybe 20lbs, that is not a lot of weight, and the Dumbell press is like 45 or 50 pound dumbells. He is young obviously, but hoping he can be putting 2-3 plates on that bar soon.

That said, I'm very skeptical of Smith machines. They encourage bad form and muscle imbalance, which leads to injury.
Ok, also, couldn't tell if that was a 35lb or 25lb plate, because that one mirrors the 35lb plates at my gym.

Wait a second. You're 5'8", 160, and you military press 195? Are you like 20% shoulder?
I almost never use machines (definitely not when I do military) so I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes exactly, but that sounds absurd.
We may not have seen his full routine. If, for instance, he started with a big compound lift-- like 5 x 5 Squats-- then the weights he was using in the video during those various iso lifts wouldn't be anywhere near his actual max.

Haha I only do prison workout from the nipples up ha.. Kidding... No, I do a full workout including legs, which was part of the earlier thread. Chest max out at 250 5 times. I always laugh at the combine when some of these dudes at the combine who struggle on the 225 like more than 10 times or don't participate..
So does home distilled alcohol, but that never stopped us, right pardner?
It's medicine, Bogs! And while there may be a few minor side-effects, just look at all of its positive effects:

Is Blake Barnett going to be there??
If Hoge misses a block and Barnett gets knocked on his ass.
Hoge to Barnett-- sorry man I missed that block, thanks for not returning my calls, enjoy your Nike gear at Oregon.
In all honesty he needs a professional trainer and he will be fine. Not a personal trainer. His legs aren't actually as underdeveloped as it seems. I'd be more concerned with posterior chain development anyway. The workout really needs some help though. I would never put one of the kids I train into a smith machine, let alone behind the neck presses in there. Just a small sampling though, would love to get a look at his complete programming.
I don't know much about personal training, but considering he works out with his dad, and the physique of said paternal trainer, I'd say he's in good hands.
ND commit Tristen Hoge looks like he's in great shape. He's one of the most likely players here to get an opening invite IMO.
