Might be a bit soon to expect an Elder Scrolls game within a year. Maybe a reveal or some early screenshots at E3 next year, yeah, probably not more than that though. Bethesda seems to space out Elder Scrolls games by every 4-6 years, so I would expect the next one to come no sooner than Fall of 2015 or 2016 I would wager.
He said reveal. On the other hand, if they make another elder scrolls before making a next gen fallout I will be unhappy
greyhammer caught it, I'm expecting only a reveal within the next year. The last one came out Nov. 2011, we're moving on 3 years removed, so I expect another Elder Scrolls game to hit the shelves within 18-24 months.
This. I love the Elder Scrolls games, but they're not nearly as entertaining as the Fallout genre. Fallout has great combat, stories, and a humor that you don't find in the Elder Scrolls universe.
Taking into account differences of taste, this is outrageous!
Seriously though, I lost 140 game hrs to Skyrim before meeting, dating and marrying my wife. Now I haven't played any games in almost a year. I would leave work around 3:30 - 4:00 and put in another full day playing that game, usually stopping around 1:00 am just to fall asleep and wake up around 6 to do start the cycle again.
I love the open world of Elder scrolls and I expect them to only continue to build on their already successful model. It's such an immersive storyline. I wish other companies would replicate this with unique worlds/characters. I think a space exploration game with similar style would be a huge win (of course, the devil is in the details).
I actually would love to see a massive world like oblivion in a 2d game. It could have rolling releases for more content and have a complex 'find & combine' algorithm that would allow players to search the world and combine items for new weapons/armor/home goods/etc. I need games that I can play in small increments and don't penalize me for lack of time (Halo, all FPSs)
I used to play far too much Halo: LAN parties with Halo 1, all nighters with Halo 2, getting whiskey'd out playing Halo 3 (and sticking people in the face), finally started falling off in Halo 4, played a little Halo Reach at a friends. Just don't have time to play like I used to.
Walk down memory lane, I hope you enjoyed.
