Yeah now they'll want to form a union!
How about a wall?

To me it's a ND/UM battle for Hilliard/Cornell and with neither deciding anytime soon I'll take ND in the marathon. Michigan can't hang till NSD for guys like this.

Minus Peppers. They seemed to hang with him long enough.

I think what STL is saying, is Michigan wraps up its recruiting really early, and doesn't like NSD-like decisions. So if someone's not under their spell by late fall, they basically cross them off of their board.
Or I could be completely wrong, but that'd be the first time.

Your right Coon.
Peppers committed to Michigan in May.
I'm talking about guys that commit in January/NSD like Hilliard and Cornell likely will.
Didn't Hilliard say he was planning on committing before the season started?
He has said he'd like to commit with enough time to recruit others but nothin that I've seen about before the season. Recently he talked about his potential OVs
One of Hilliard or Cornell said recently in an interview that they wanted to select a school by the end of August. Can't remember which off the top of my head.
Saint Paul (Minn.) Cretin Derham Hall five-star DL Jashon Cornell has yet to narrow his list of offers, but a source close to the situation indicates that the main players at this point are Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss & UCLA.
The source maintains Notre Dame is in the driver's seat. Cornell is expected to visit again on Saturday after the NFTC in Chicago.
Michigan & Michigan State are in strong position while the Rebels & Bruins are potential dark horses.
Expected to make a decision on Aug. 17. Cornell himself has named no favorites.
I haven't followed Cornell's or Hilliard's recruitment very much (still a little early for me to get into it) but...
...without being a homer what are your guy's thoughts on our chances of landing both of them?
There's about 20 people on here who know more than I do, but from what I've read, I'd say strong to quite strong.
God I hope so. They seem like huge difference makers for ND on the field and in recruiting. And they want to play with each other, am I correct? I know MICH fans seem pretty good about Hilliard.
just 20 kuehn?![]()
Well apparently Johnny Manziel is smarter than me, per his wonderlic score, so let's round it up to 1,000.
There are no two recruits more important than Cornell/Hilliard to close on. Wrapping up both by the end of the summer is hugely important for whether this class is head for top 10 and maybe top 5... or somewhere in the teens.
Bilal/Cornell/Hilliard/Taylor would be one heck of a start for the front 7. And I have no doubt they'll help reel in some other talented players.
Morgan, Smith, Hilliard ,Cornell. MY GOD
While I agree with your thought process. I like Blankenship and Trumbetti more than Cornell as pass rushers. Cornell is going to have some interesting competition if he were to suit up for ND over the next few years. Throw Williams in that mix as well.
Yeah, but we have pass-rushers-galore in the 2014 class (Bonner, Blankership, Williams, Trumbetti). From what little I've seen, I think Cornell would be a better every down DL. Him and Hayes will be good against the run, IMO, and better than those above.
Hate to rain on any parade, but ND really fucked up with Cornell and has a lot of ground to make up. As has been stated, Diaco wasn't a big fan bc of Cornell's size, and it was off-putting for Cornell bc while ND was kinda recruiting him, Michigan and others were putting in major work with him.
Coming tomorrow night would be huge, but make no mistake, ND put themselves in a hole here.
Per Christian at ISD, Cornell will indeed make it to ND later today. IMO, kind of a big deal. It's a lot of trouble for him to go out of the way for a very short visit and he has to drive back to MN tomorrow. Christian thinks we still have a great shot, and that Cornell has an extremely close relationship to onwualu. Has in the past even called them close to brother like status.
