Oooohhh…. I like this kid's game. You can tell that he has the cutting ability and top end speed to be dangerous on the edge. But 90%+ of his runs are right up the gut.

His ability to be hard to take down overshadows his elite speed.

DO WANT

Only 30 miles from Dallas, which is where Prentice McKinney is from. Would be awesome if they got in touch and coordinated the spring game visit together.

Love this offer. What level of competition does he play?

Not gamebreaker top end speed but looks like he accelerates really well. His 0-60 is really good. He routinely stopped and started while bursting forward. Really liked his cutting as well.

To be honest, I see a little bit of Folston in this video.

My favorite part of the highlight video?

The props to the o-line in the beginning.

4A Texas. I think someone familiar said that was tough everywhere in the state, especially in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. It really doesn't get much better.

little steps behind the line with his head up looking for hole, then long strides once thru, but still looks great when has to cut and change direction, and yeas, stays up thru first couple of hits...lets just hope he wouldn't mind moving north for a few years

5A is bigger, but there isn't a ton of drop-off to 4A. At least not as much as other states. For example, Aledo is 4A but I think was ranked in the Top 10 of the Southwest last year.

DFW produces some of, if not the best talent in Texas. Houston and San Antonio have some really good schools, but Dallas area talent is absolutely stacked:

There is a compelling argument that D-FW produced the best football teams in the nation.
The final rankings at NationalHSFootball.com included eight D-FW teams in the top 60: Allen (2), DeSoto (5), Cedar Hill (8), Coppell (20), Euless Trinity (27), Southlake Carroll (28), Denton Guyer (41) and Aledo (54).

Sweep of 5A, 4A titles proves the Dallas-area produces best high school football teams in Texas | Dallas Morning News

5A has the biggest schools and best teams, but 4A is full of BCS talent. You definitely aren't watching Avon Old Farms in those highlights.

No offense, but I think this comparison is way off. Tarean is much smoother and has more patience and vision.

No offense taken. I thought Tarean's highlight tape showed a similar runner in highschool when he was junior. Tarean was smoother in regards to him "gliding" on the field but they both have the quick juke while maintaining speed.

I don't know about patience and vision, I'll wait until I can compare his senior highlights to Tarean's. But his ability to hit the hole with burst looked really good on that tape.

Tarean's senior highlights for comparison

I am real high on this kid. I do not have a comparison, but he is real talented. If that 4.45 number is close to accurate, I would be very impressed.

Impressed by how he is always thinking about getting upfield. Very north south runner, with decisive cuts, not a lot of dancing or wasted movements.

Sometimes times are and some times are not. In this case you consistently see him out quicking and outrunning Texas 4A kids from good competition. My gut feeling is this kid has elite speed.

Exactly and he has also has power in his running style. I appreciate the way this kid runs. He does not sound really hyped, but he may be my favorite rb in the class.
