Had a son that was phonetically dyslexic. We found it early. Sixth grade. He spent two years working his ass off. Was on track by high school with a higher that average reading level all the way through. Only class he didn't do well at in high school was Physics. His teacher told him he passed it because he tried so hard.

The point is, we were lucky we found it as early as we did. The kid always worked hard. It just didn't work for him before we got that special help. It had nothing to do with being lazy, or privileged.

Glad to hear a success story with dyslexia. In my school district, we have seen a sharp increase in dyslexic students that have benefitted from the use of colored overlays. It's amazing how a student can not be able to read a paragraph because the letters are 'dancing', then when they lay the colored overlay down ( which ever color works), the words flow out of their mouth.

I said that to say this: surely this school had the resources to test Clark to see what assistance would be academically beneficial.

Yo, I decide to, say have a life, and go out and do something on Friday night, and look what the fuck happens!

Bunch of candy ass dad's and husbands sitting home on your computers in the basement, pounding your tables, clenching your teeth at the balls of the other guy! Dammit! (Double score!)

I just have to tell you, all; you guys scare me. Funny to hear the new guy, with his, "You wouldn't have the balls to say that to my face!" The age old shticks of a guy with all the potential to be a real tough guy.

I really regret not being here for the half hour edited out of thread! What do I get nothing, and then Johnny threatening a bunch of vegetables! Johnny could kick that pea pod's ass, sprout! I want to see him tangle with the broccoli, too! Gawd, the angst I feel . . .

Hey, that's some funny shit guys.

And I stopped at both, and neither had any of those hoi polloi things. The service desk at both places thought that they were probably not legal in Ohio. Said they know they had them at other stores. One lady had moved up from Kentucky, and she knew they had them there.

Walmart Wussies!

Table for two in Ann Arbor ...

Couple of good places in Ann, including my favorite Mongolian Barbecue, and a couple of haute cuisine including at least one place that serves that hoi polloi.

But to get the really good stuff you have to go up to Milford, Michigan; know the owner of three great restaurants up that a way.

Good Intel this morning...
-Barajas is completely off the board it seems. Doesn't look like ND will keep pursuing, and Franklin made him swear hi and low he wouldn't listen to ND moving forward.
-Fertitta definitely sounds like a "take" per sources... I'd imagine he'll be the next add to the class.
-Bilal is having the heat turned up on him. He'll be up either this Saturday or for the spring game. Expect an offer and a hard push, I'd consider MSU the main threat right now.

what was the pitch to clark??

Here:
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly’s pitch during Chris Clark’s visit to campus last weekend seemed to strike a perfect balance with the 2015 Connecticut tight end.

“He really wasn’t trying to sell me on anything, which I appreciated,” Clark explained. “He was a real, honest upfront guy, so that was real cool. He just talked about what I do and my strengths, they fit Notre Dame perfectly in terms of the tight end position.

“I’m a tight end they really like. He’s had great success with tight ends obviously with Brent Celek at Cincinnati and the ones he has at Notre Dame. He’s a really nice guy too. He gave me a letter saying I had a scholarship from Notre Dame. That’s cool, a letter from Coach Kelly.”

We also talked with Clark a bit about the negativity he’s received from some fans since his commitment to North Carolina. It can obviously get annoying, but Clark is doing his best to deal with the negativity and not let it bother him. Clark plans on having a successful career and expects that sort of attention to continue, so he’s getting early practice on blocking it out.

It’s also worth noting that Clark was reluctant to talk about the Notre Dame visit and will likely have the same feelings when it comes to upcoming trips to Ohio State and Michigan. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him try to stay a bit under the radar this month and, again, he doesn’t strike us as the kind of kid looking to use the process for more attention.

I wonder if they're a little off on the last part. I guess we'll see.
