If you knew there were life on another planet via some sign from God or dream (not because you saw something, received a signal, etc), would you hope they ARE smarter than us, or that they're unable to think abstractly and are basically as intelligent as what movies portray zombies to be like?

If they're smarter than us, you'd have to believe they'd be able to take us out if they wanted. If they're dumber, then vice versa.

Any aliens that would visit our solar system would be far, far more advanced than our civilization, simply due to the distance they would have to travel to get here. The nearest stars are Alpha Centauri and Proxima Centauri, both about 4 light-years away. So, some alien civilization would have to travel, at minimum, for 4 years at the speed of light just to get here or they would have figured out how to travel great distances using space-time shortcuts, wormholes or something. We're nowhere near anything like that. Really, we're a bunch of chimps compared to any alien civilization that would visit us.

Anyone else surprised by the lack of US satellite surveillance imagery? It's got to exist. We keep an eye on EVERYTHING. Suspicious of the silence .

Wow... I'm at the airport about to get on a US Airways flight back to Buffalo. My usual layover is Philly, but this time it is randomly DC.

Yeah and the Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT) is supposed to turn on when submerged in water. They haven't had a signal so the plane landed, went too far under water or the ELT malfunctioned.

My wife tried to convince me to move there right after college. I said no long enough for her aunt to chime in. We will never live in, or around DC... EVER!


On the flight thingy...

So at 35k feet, everything disappears. Later they say it seemed to be turning. Someone found a big..nope never mind. US had something to say about 3 communications being shut off. Social media times you out? Had no idea about that actually. We still have no idea WTF is going on and OMM is dropping bombs in the alien thread?

Did I get it right? I really want to follow this more but nothing has come out that makes any sense!
