Which is really something considering the blistering social commentary and incredibly intelligent wit associated with and contained in these posts!

With that I (unbelievably) missed the answerers to a few questions :

Does NJ in fact recognize emancipation by petition or participation?

How does NJ look at an agreement between a parent and a child in the fact that it cannot be a legal contract, i.e., one party the juvenile cannot enter into a legal agreement?

When does emancipation officially occur in NJ? (I believe Ohio is 18th birthday or hs graduation, whichever is last.)

Are there other siblings?

Is this family Catholic and do they participate in their community?

Other than the young woman's allegations that her father was overly friendly, were there any other possible criminal investigations related to the family?

Daughter is 18 years old and moves out on her own. She's free to do what she wants within the law, but she is also responsible for all expenses and all consequences of her actions. If you want to be treated as an adult, be an adult.

However, this sounds like someone who wants the privilege of being an adult without having any of the responsibilities of being an adult. Sorry, but life doesn't work that way. Any lawyer who would take this case should be stiffed for any fees they may charge. Stupid is as stupid does.

My fiancee's brother dated this girl in HS. Apparently she's a jacknut. She already lost the case as well.

Great job by the guy who took her in (a lawyer), paying 13 G's in legal fees.

My daughter was caught throwing rocks yesterday...

Already know where this is going. We just had rock work done along our driveway, looks nice but they left scattered rocks here and there in other places in the yard. Like, a lot of them really...
