Is Amir paying? If he is, question withdrawn.

Didn't get offered but had a great visit. He was glad that he finally got to start building his own relationship with the coaches. Will get back up for the spring game and a practice. Wiltfong notes that he's ours to lose at this point.

I would think with his brother on board he would love to wear the blue & gold.

would like to see him get invited to this rumored camp of elite prospects....would be the best situation to see his ability against elite division 1 athletes and whether he is at the level needed to compete at ND...he's 2 inches shy of being a stud at safety and a much bigger recruit nationally

I think that's the idea.

If BvG's defense has a role for Nicco Fertitta, you'd think that Justin's size shouldn't be a deal breaker here.

agreed, but idk about 2 of those type of guys in the same class ya know?

That's fair. But I hope the staff keeps the door open so that, when we invariably whiff on a couple reach recruits at the end of the cycle, we might be able to pick him up late. Like his brother, I think he'd at least be a solid ST piece.

i'll draw some flack here for being racist, but how is he as a RB? could he fit that bill this cycle and maybe be a Cam McDaniel type that runs hard north and south and gets some tough yards inside the box?

Good idea. We need two rb's this cycle and we cannot whiff like last year.

IMO, Justin's ceiling is sky high.

Could probably be the highest of anyone in this class or whoever we up with at the end of the class.

DO WANT

Do we really need 2 this class? GB is technically a member of this class now.

I highly doubt Bryant hangs for a 5th.

Cam will be gone

Amir will be gone

Mahone who knows...

We need one every year and last year we missed.

After this year, you're down to Folston, Bryant and Mahone. You definitely need one, and two might be nice because you still aren't sure exactly what you have in Mahone.

I don't know about that, but we definitely need a gunner on kick and punt teams, plenty of return help, and a plethora of other help. For me it depends how fast Kelly could get this kid on the field in some ancillary capacity.

I should have been more clear. I think we need 1 this cycle for sure. Just didn't know if 2 was a MUST.

You were clear to me. I just think that we need some kids that can really play on special teams. So two may not be out of the question. If I remember right this kid is faster than light, (or lectricity, at least). We didn't get a McKenzie last year so maybe the coaches make room. You know?

I think he's as quick as a hiccup!

His measurables are pretty close to Cam's (including the lightning fast shuttle) when he was a Senior except Justin might be a tenth faster.

Height: 5'11"
Weight: 195lbs
40yd Dash: 4.45
Shuttle: 3.94
Vertical: 35"
Bench Press: 280lbs
Squat: 400lbs

With that said, Justin has been lighting it up on the defensive side of the ball at a couple of the Core 6 showcases where he was named defensive MVP on two occasions. Everyone seems to project the higher upside on the defensive side. What this kid would do is provide the exact same flexibility that Cam did where you could put him at corner, safety, running back or in the slot.

No, GB would count as a member of the 2014 class if you want to think that way. GB will see the field this fall. These kids won't until 2015.

Personally, I don't think GB will be here through his potential RS senior year. So we need a RB more than it seems.

I'd love to see Justin offered. His measurables seem very comparable to others we have offered. He could play a number of possible positions (slot receiver, safety, cornerback, maybe even running back) and he could be a great addition to special teams. Get him here and let his talent decide where we can use him best. If nothing else, he offers depth at a number of different positions.
