Anyone watch? My wife and I started watching last ear and just finished the first two episodes of season 2. Wow. Incredible writing and acting. Definitely one of the best shows on TV... or internet rather.

Frank Underwood is an awesome character. First season was awesome.

I've only seen the first episode of Season 2 and it was tremendous. I think you can make a good argument that it's the best "TV" show out right now since Breaking Bad is done. It's got the best cast and a super high production quality.

I think it's certainly in the leading pack.

House of Cards
Game of Thrones
True Detective
Mad Men?
Downton Abbey?

Boardwalk Empire and Homeland have fallen off too significantly in my opinion.

LOL @ the Networks...

I watch all of those shows besides Boardwalk Empire and I think it's between House of Cards and Game of Thrones. Mad Men is excellent but there are a lot of dud episodes. I need to see the full season of True Detective before I can make any statements about it being better than any other show.

Game of Throne is more spectacular and entertaining overall but considering it's based off a book I think it deserves slightly less praise than House of Cards, which is original as far as I know.

Sons of Anarchy is great. Walking Dead is up there too. Game of Thrones is good but not great in my opinion. Mad Men might be the most overrated show I've ever seen. Soooooooooo boring.

House of Cards is based off a British miniseries from 1990 and subsequent books in 1996.

I haven't seen the latest season of Mad Men. To me that show is an enigma, at first I hated everyone but January Jones (wowzers) then it totally flipped and now I don't know what to think. It doesn't help that I had a roommate who attempted to turn into Don Draper whenever he had liquor haha

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead seriously sucks. It was amazing when Frank Darabont was in charge. The Walking Dead and Homeland went the way of Weeds and took strooooong nosedives after incredible beginnings and potential.

and Sons of Anarchy.

Good point. I have to watch this.

I'm on episode 11 (yeah, I had a productive Saturday). Definitely my favorite show...until Game of Thrones returns.

I finished season 2 and I'm kinda disappointed ... I thought one of the best things about Season 1 was that it was realistic minus a few glaring ideas... Season 2 had the potential but I think they went in the wrong direction around episode 8 and ultimately the finale

Season 2 could've been epic if they hit a little closer to home. You could tell it was designed to steal legitimate Washington storylines, but IMO it took that realism and made it more HBO

7.5/10

For the record. The peach-shaped water tower in Gaffney really does exist. It is god-awful.

Guess I'm the guy that "doesn't get" house of cards. Game of Thrones is far and away the best thing on tv right now.

I'm about halfway thru S1 so will be joining this convo soon. Going to ignore for now in case any spoilers.

Some more perspective....what he did with his "Citadel" class ring was liken to blasphemy. It is causing much turmoil here. Underwood is a very interesting character. Whoever wrote him knows a lot about the subtleties of the culture. My wife and I were like "oh Lawd... that is not going to fly well." Sure enough I have had several conversations already about what a "disgrace" that action was.
He is unconventional and I guess that is part of his character. I have also read a lot about the similarities between him and Richard III (shakespeare)

I am willing to go further via PM if anyone is interested.

What did he do with his ring again?

Kate Mara is purdy:]

I would have started watching a lot earlier had I known that she was so prominently featured. I've had a school-boy crush on her since that awful Mark Wahlberg movie she did

TP you're joking about The Walking Dead, right? You can't really think that show is in the same conversation as House of Cards, can you? Can you? TP? Don't hurt me like this.

I am 60 minutes away from being on the couch with a couple of Selma's Chicago thin crusts, a sampler case of Ballast Point and binging on some Francis and Claire. Oh how I've missed my favorite Democrat!

Just watched the first 2 episodes of S3. I'm guessing that Stamper is not long for this world/show. Hopefully S3 is more like S1 b/c S2 jumped the shark IMO about halfway thru the season.

Four episodes in. A+ stuff so far, better than S2 by a country mile.

I'm only two episodes in, but agree they've rediscovered their S1 fastball.

Should we have a spoiler alert policy here since we're all going to go at different paces?
