Kelly had a meeting with Davaris and his parents when this all went down, and they were furious with Davaris and adamant that Davaris would be back. They have not always had a great relationship with BK, so this was a great sign that they were serious about DD getting his stuff together instead of blaming the school. DD will be back, no doubt about it, and hopefully he will come back a different, more serious and dedicated football player, as has Golson...

Can't rep you again yet but thanks for the info, big guy.

His parents get it. It's nice they can separate football from the academic side. I would think the meeting would make the relationship much better for all of them.

Yeah, but who's your source! Do you have a recording to prove it?

Wanna be!

I think any parents would be furious if there kid fails out of school. Atleast I'd hope anyway.

I agree, but some parents think their kids can do no wrong. His dad wasn't bashful about letting his feelings be known when it came to the amount of plays directed toward DD.

That is good to hear. And Davaris is certainly making all the right noises about coming back.

Well, those injuries explain a bit why his production dropped as the season went on.

You know, I bet he really was banged up. When he hurt his hip, it must be the time it was reported as a "slight groin." Not so much.

I had a kid with a football-hip injury. It is a pervasive thing. And this kid of mine was pretty tough. The right hip injury makes any endeavor difficult. Hope he gets it back! And on track!

Wow, that does explain a lot. And good on him for sticking with it. You don't want Notre Dame to become known as a place where starters get suspended all the time, but if you have a few come through it OK and talk about the experience, well, there's a lot worse things that can happen.

At the very least, at least we can say we know our guys are taking actual classes as even our starters aren't off limits when it comes to suspensions....as oppose to a place like UNC where classes are option.

A lot of good info in the article. Have a lot of respect for a guy taking responsibility and using the experience to better himself. Here's to Daniels coming back in the fall a better, more responsible football player and individual.

That being said, him and Golson are going to do extremely sexy things on the field together next season.

Great read hopefully he can stay healthy and keep numbers like the first four games for a whole season. But first he has to get back into the class room and making his academics a priority

That video reminded me of how close ND played inferior teams...I hope that trend is DEAD!

DEAD DEAD DEAD

Hopefully DD can continue to be a big part of that.

I know this isn't the turf topic but if we could get turf to look like the field at the 00:15 mark that would be sweet.
