Wiltfong: 2015 CB John Reid out of Philly St. Joe's Prep has offers from Boston College, Colorado, UCF, Rutgers and Maryland.

Checked in at 5-10, 172.

Loves ND, Ohio State and SEC schools according to his father.

Listed in Intel as a name to know. He has some nice offers so far (PSU, Miami, Michigan, Arizona, and WVU) and ND is showing interest. He grew up an Irish fan, as GITF said, and his high school coach has a good relationship with Diaco. He would like to visit this summer but currently has no plans. We will be in the mix here

Between him and Shaun Crawford, I like him more. He seems to be a little bigger and quicker imo. Shaun looked a little more of an aggressive tackler though. Both guys profile in the slot here. Hope we can get him committed soon(saw in 2015 master list thread that he wants to commit after senior year).

STRENGTHS: Displays good length and playing speed at the corner position. Productive coming off the edge versus the run. Demonstrates good ball skills and overall is an instinctive defender. Is fluid and natural coming out of his pedal. Plays at his best in off coverage. ... AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: Not a consistent run-through tackler. Needs to add some bulk and strength to his frame to match his aggressive style of player. Could polish his press-man skills. ... BOTTOM LINE: Reid is an instinctive playmaker on the perimeter with great run support skills and solid underneath coverage ability. This is a solid player at the CB position with a bright future at the next level.

TJ posted, solid shot here. Interesting note is that Diaco is long time friends with Reid's coach. He assumes he'll put it in a good word for us.

He will if he ever wants a spot on Kelly's staff after his UCONN experiment goes up in flames.

He grew up an Irish fan, as GITF said, and his high school coach has a good relationship with Diaco.

I didn't see the intel piece, but is he really an Irish fan? So many times we hear this, but then we find out that they were "fans" of a lot of schools. There is a lot of kids that like ND growing up, but that is entirely different than being a "fan". When I read GITF's post, it just says he "likes" ND, along with a bunch of other schools.

If he grew up an actual "fan", then that is terrific news.

I don't have ISD anymore so I can't look back at that Intel but I assume Intel used the word "fan" because I try not to alter the words they when I summarize articles. Maybe someone with ISD can look back at that.

Says he likes the SEC schools, per his dad, but I didn't see any of them listed on his offer list.

When did SJP start putting out 4 star players every year? When I was in high school we never lost to them, and I think they only put Skyler Morhenweg in D1, to Flurrida.

ISDUpdate: Worth mentioning that touted Philly CB John Reid will also be at #NotreDame the same time as Clark.

Boom. March 29th for those wondering.

Don't know what highschool you went to or when, but the Prep has definitely been one of the top 2 or 3 schools in eastern pa over the last decade plus. Also they've had a few players go D1, including an o-linemen to BC a couple years back.

Scout: doubts he will ever put out a top 5, will keep if within his family. Decision after all 5 OVS are made, could go to NSD with decision. He had good things to say about several schools, he really wants to play out the process to find the right fit.

FWIW, I have a connection in the know with the St. Joe's program and asked about the odds of Reid going to ND. The immediate response from him when I asked was "pretty good." I tried to get some more details and he said that ND is "at the top of his list" and it helps that Hiestand is recruiting him because there are some East Stroudsburg connections on the St. Joes coaching staff.

Didn't say anything on timing, but it's safe to assume ND will be in his top group until the end.

There's also a big East Stroudsburg connection on the PSU staff.

So this guys has 'hottest WAG', is buying a new car, and has connections in recruiting? You all should all be hating this guy, not me! Lol.
