BVG made a strong impression. ND sold itself with academics, specifically the business school. Parents want OU but says it is his decision and he doesn't know right now. Told Stoops in a phone call as well.

great job by the staff to make it this close...who knows if we would have gotten involved earlier...don't like the idea of mom/dad not being on our side, had they been on the trip with him i think things would be differently

Exactly why I mentioned BK getting in touch with the parents. Sounds like he wants ND, so let's knock down that last barrier.

I like the sound of that. Sorry BOB.

I don't see how any parent could be against ND.. and that's not the homer in me.. I don't see how they could be against Stanford either

Think it has more to do with the relationships that have been built with OU staff. Plus it's closer to home and that matters to some parents.

Just a reminder for my man Garnett...(note the date of the tweet).

This is what I've been thinking as well, hence the "Hoping BK calls the parents" wish.

We gave it our best shot and we were behind on this one. Good pick up for the Sooners.

Hopefully with BVG on board, we won't be chasing these kind of last-minute prospects in future classes when we've known we had holes to fill.

Still, we got Mokwuah and could get surprised by Cage so at least we didn't strike out.

Couldn't expect much when getting involved this late in the game w/ these kids. The positive to take away from this is that BVG will get offers out to a wide array of talent, and I have no doubt that given a full year to recruit, he'll pull his share of front seven guys.

I mean what is the matter with Mokwuah and Hayes, even if we don't get Cage?

With some of the other D-line talent we have coming in? Next year a priority, yes. This year we can breathe and get used to defensive changes. BVG can do nothing better than start to build a good track record.

Depth (or lack thereof) is the problem.
