Per Loy, Garnett had a very good official with Rochell as his host. Loy spoke with a source who said they are 'very confident' they put forth enough to flip him, but that it is 'all up to the parents now'.

He expects the Garnetts to sit down as a family once he gets home and make his final decision then. Hopefully we showed him enough on the OV and that conversation goes our way.

Similar stuff in ISD. Oklahoma leads in relationships, we lead with academics, but we pitched relationships pretty hard. Also he was hosted by Rochell. Felt he could get along well with the guys he hung out with.

IMO, he goes to Oklahoma.

Norman is a beautiful place but nothing touches the tradition and beauty of ND.

I'm a homer but I've seen both and liked Norman.

I'm holding out a little bit more hope. Even though ND hasn't had a long relationship with the Garnett's, they have had a long and fairly fruitful relationship with St. Aug, and Notre Dame is known and respected in the very Catholic city of New Orleans. IMO that is why he is even entertaining us at all after the very late offer. My guess is Notre Dame 's reputation preceded the introduction and offer by a lot, especially with his parents. Will be hard with the relationships he has already built with OU but I think we are getting major benefit of the doubt here.

Yeah, Loy said that Garnett was very clear with the staff that he has to talk to his parents and make sure they would be comfortable with him choosing ND, as if that's the only obstacle.

But Piombino is right, Loy is always a bit over-optimistic. I am not making any predictions based just on what he said.

I mean the guy pegged Lorenzo Carter to ND at one point. You never hear Loy ever, ever say no I don't think ND lands him or ND might be running second or third. I respect Sampson, Jake Brown and Christian because they will tell you that. Never heard Loy say it, he is all about hits on his links. He has gotten a little bit better though. But he's a homer and I'm done ranting because you all know I don't like him.

With all due respect Jake Brown is honestly the worst recruiting reporter I've ever come across. Loy is definitely a homer but at least he brings info. II has been a joke for recruiting this whole year. Not to mention their douchebag approach to that board. Good team info and TJ is enough to have a membership for me.

Well he did admit in the chat last Thursday when asked if he would be a fan of ND football if he didn't cover them and he said absolutely not. So this kid is more an IU basketball fan who is working the ND beat. Not saying you have to be die hard fan but it does help to at least be a regular fan. I think he is in the wrong business as well.

Yes I believe coaches can call recruits and their parents.
