I think it's pretty clear what is happening here. Loy and Wiltfong have a source in the ND football office who is genuinely optimistic about Juju based on his relationship with the staff ... but that source doesn't know what Juju is telling SC people, and what he is telling SC people differs dramatically from what he tells ND people.

But at this point, even Loy and Wiltfong admit that SC seems to have the momentum in this recruitment ... they just won't admit that it's over.

I think this pretty much goes on all the time with recruits.

My view of this recruitment. It's getting the best of me, even though the truth is evident.

Gotta love this time of the year.

ND is right where they want to be in this. Less than 2 weeks out and a shot. All you can ask for.

I agree. As I and others have said before, if he was so solid why hasn't he committed already? With him also talking to UCLA I think we are right there. As a matter of fact, I could make a case that if he's talking to UCLA he's not that hot on USC.

Christian at ISD too. They are all getting fed info that Juju (or someone in his camp) is telling ND coaches that they are still in it. That's why I don't blame Christian nor Wiltfong for reporting what they are being told, even if they don't fully believe that Juju will be Irish in the end.

Lots of people are comparing this recruitment to Manti. Some similarities, but lots of differences. Most notably that Manti took an extra unofficial to ND with his parents on the down-low, showing how serious he was. And he wasn't telling people he was going to USC (last report had Juju telling people who he'd be rooming with).

You know what...I'll stop there. This freezageddon has me posting more, and sometimes it's the same shit lol. And I'm usually a positive thinker, but all I do with Juju is state that he is going to USC. So I'll just say that I hope Loy and Steve are right and I am way wrong...

Same boat, brother, except that your info/perspective is continually putting my optimism on ice.

And that's a good thing...

Juju Smith said he won't visit anywhere this weekend but interestingly said he was actually considering another trip to #Oregon

RT @GregBiggins: I've felt for awhile if there is any school with a chance to surprise #USC for Smith, it's #Oregon and still feel that way

This board when Juju says "I'll be taking my talents to Sou-thern California."

Haha, wife and I saw this too the other night at the Grammy's.

Only problem is, the board won't be clapping for the the winning school afterwards.

Think this one is over boys. His OV to sc will wrap it up, I'm sure a "silent" will become known on NSD

Per Blair at Wearesc.com:
Four-star athlete JuJu Smith tells me he has an idea of where he will sign.

He loved his official to USC over the weekend and then unofficially visited UCLA on Monday. USC coaches are supposed to drop by for an in-home on Thursday.

JuJu says he intends to sit down and make a decision Sunday, then turn off his phone. He will announce at around noon or 1 p.m. on Wednesday on ESPNU.

Notre Dame, Oregon and UCLA are the other schools in contention (ND and UO will meet with him Wed.), but there is nothing that leads me to believe USC is in any trouble.

I think Oregon getting involved is great news. Any other schools that can get the idea in his head to leave LA is only good for us.

Might only improve our chances from .5% to 1% but I'll take it ha

He really was a long shot to begin with. Too bad we won't get him but I would rather Oregon get him than USC. He should do well at the next level...I just dont want to play against him over and over again.

@AnnaHScout: 5-star Juju Smith plans to have decision finalized by this wkend, talks USC OV, upcoming in-homes, & playing WR ($): Scout.com: Smith talks USC/UCLA visits

Met the new staff and saw more of the academics at USC. Enjoyed hanging with the guys the most (Mama, Viane, etc). Liked UCLA and coaches a lot. Could play either side of the ball and ready for it to be over. Sounds like USC, UCLA and Oregon are the tops.

We had a real good shot when Lame was still there.
