Loves what Muschamp is trying to build? Never thought people would admire a trash heap in that way.

I posted this awhile back in another thread but it relates here. Florida was arguably the worst coaching job in 2013. Absolutely embarrassing. If they don't see a drastic improvement next year (win 9+ games), they'll have a whole new coaching staff. I'm not sure how you could look at it from a football perspective and actually get excited about that situation.

In 3 seasons he is 13–11 in Conference and 22-16 overall. Not good Mr. Holley, not good at all.

I have to think Holley knows Muschamp has very little time left at Florida. They will have to have a phenomenal season next year for him to be back. I am thinking anything less than beating UGA and an SEC east title is the minimum.

Out of all the schools he could have chosen, he picks one with easier academics and a terrible football team. Hmmmm....

I'm kind of wondering if Holley doesn't end up transferring after a year or two. When you look at Florida's previous recruiting years, they've got a number of 4 star DTs signed, and one other than Holley already verbaled for this year. Where we're weak at the position, Florida is pretty loaded. He could end up having a hard time finding playing time, especially being a project that's still relatively new to playing football.

Sounds like the kid is going to be devastated after next year when Muschamp is shoved out the door.

Muschamp is the guy in the second hand dealership who fudges with the miles on the unsellables

What I cannot understand is that Muschamp has what? One or two more years?

I mean there is little question he is driving the program into the ground. Does Holley expect them to get pounded any less this coming year? To be what, in a situation where the admin cleans house?

Well Franklin's gone so they'll probably beat Vandy now...

In all seriousness I don't know what he's thinking either. I know Florida won championships when Urban was coaching but there is nothing I can see in to make me think that UF won't get regularly curb-stomped by LSU, SCAR, FSU, and UGA for the immediate future. This means that Muschamp is going to get fired really soon.

For a kid, that supposedly is so high maintenance that he wants to dictate what scheme he plays under, to go to a school that will likely have a new coaching staff in 2ish years is mind-boggling.

Exactly! It would be different if this kid were a team player, or a leader, or an anchor of any kind. But it really is all about him!

Eh I'm over this kid, if he had any interest at all in ND he would have at least waited till after his in-home to make a decision. Staff can now focus their efforts elsewhere.

Florida should have 9-10 starters back on defense. They were able to build some depth there due to the insane amount of injuries they had. If their new OC can get the offense rolling, the Gators could surprise some people next season. We should know pretty early if the offensive woes are improving. If not, WM may be shown the door.

yep hard to judge how strong UF is as a program going on 2013, they had like 4 guys off their OL plus their QB lost for the season early on?

Injuries are definitely a mitigating factor, but they're not a legitimate excuse for how bad Florida actually was. ND lost 3 guys on their OL during the season, and their starting QB for the whole season. Also had over 25+ players injured including their 3 starting DL playing with injuries all year, as well as injuries to a starter at ILB, both starting safeties, and starting OLB.

ND went 9-4. Florida, who has far more depth/talent and had less injuries, went 4-8 and lost to Georgia Southern.

Probably the worst coaching job in all of college football. As soon as the chips were down and they couldn't out-talent everyone, Florida folded like a lawn chair and got embarrassed on the field.

I don't think anyone is using injuries as an excuse. And the ND comparison isn't really a good one. The Irish had some life on offense and was able to help the defense out. Florida had no offense at all. That's on the coaches. If the new OC can get their offense going, the Gators will be much better than some think. That is a big if however and Muschamp's time there as HC will depend on it.

Don't forget they finished dead last in the SEC in offense, have three kickers who are disastrous outside of 30 yards and have no recognizable offensive playmakers. Further they were one of the most heavily penalized teams in FBS. They are an undisciplined mess. They just fired their OC and OL coaches. Muschamp must turn around a program, the fans, and the front office this year.

Congrats Holley. Good luck.

i think another issue UF had was that they have a bunch of Urbie's recruits (who mostly have since left) who obviously weren't buying into the Muschamp regime.

I'll legitimately be shocked if Muschamp is around next year.

Yep. UF was like ND in 2007 ... it was understandable why they were bad but there was simply no excuse for them to be THAT bad. I really can't understand why a recruit would want to jump on what appears to be a sinking ship.
