Listening to Musberger pumping one Michigan State win and a lucky Nebraska win into a symbol of Big Ten strength is both laughable and sickening.

He was NOT saying it showed strength of conference. JEEZ. What he inferred is the obvious, that the Big Ten will still have a losing record in bowl games again, this bowl season, even if OSU wins tonight.

He talked a TON about the fact that they have not had a good history recently and that this was their only significant win in a bowl game in years.

I hate the B1G as much as anyone, but c'mon. Brent is paid to embellish but in this case, it was not anything over the top. Honestly.

He implied that. You then inferred it.

How??

I never said the conference was strong and neither did Musburger.

The Big Ten will have another LOSING record in bowls for the, what, sixth year in a row?

That is the mark of a weak conference.

Is that emphatic enough, considering the fact that I DID say that the league would have a losing record in the bowls?

SMH.

Dude I'm not arguing your point. You misused the word "inferred."

I think that you mistakenly putting words into Brent's mouth, because HERBIE was the one who inferred, or implied it, by saying that the Big Ten teams had been competitive in their losses.

2 points here...

#1, why isn't Shaw giving the ball to one of the best players on offense for that team? Why isn't he rolling out with his mobile QB? WHY IN GOD'S NAME IS HE RUNNING INTO THE TEETH OF THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE COUNTRY?

#2 I love how Desmond Howard's Michiganness was shining through by saying that Stanford was going to run away with this game, even at halftime. FU Desmond, typical UM jerk off.

Actually, considering the fact that I was saying that you overreacted, I think my point is easily enough understood, whether implied or inferred....which are essentially the same thing.

George O'Leary actually didn't want Blake Bortles. Wasn't a fan till #UCF whiffed on Tommy Rees, Mike Strauss, Trevor Simien & Tyler Brosius

You are completely wrong. The context of his comment was that the Big Ten isn't as bad as advertised. He was pumping the Mich St. win and the Nebraska win. He even mentioned that Ohio State was coming up on Friday, in the context that they can flex some more conference muscle. Sorry you can't follow it.

This. I had a feeling this was the kiss of death for Stanford.

They aren't. A speaker implies...a listener infers.

Gotta say, I'm surprised at how easily UCF moves it Baylor. Virtually no resistance. Didn't know the Baylor defense was this soft.

It has been for years. They were supposedly improved this year.

They are not just "we give up a lot of points" bad; they are "we need to hold constantly or we'll get burned on every play" bad. They are worse than Army (this is a little exaggeration, perhaps).

According to Fremeau as of 12/10/13 they're not that soft. BU has the 19th toughest defense adjusted for opponents. UCF's defense was ranked 42nd. ND was 28th.

BU's opponent adjusted offensive efficiency was 12th. UCF 21st. ND 15th.

I've asked this a hundred times, but does O'Leary turn ND around if he isn't fired?
