Non "Pinstripe Bowl" Bowl Talk

I think it's actually becoming less important

I disagree. Guess who's going to get the benefit of the doubt for the toss-up spots? Stupid SEC if everyone thinks they're going through a tougher road. The more grounded they become top to bottom, the less credit they get IMO.

Hypothetically I will grant that they will receive the benefit of a "toss-up" although I'm not sure what a "toss-up" is and I don't think there will be an uninformed "benefit" given. So, hypothetically, an SEC gets the benefit in a toss-up for the final of 4 spots. Don't they already get that sort of treatment for one of 2 spots now, thereby undermining the argument that it is more important than ever to to discredit the SEC cloak of invincibility? Further, now that you have to win another game against a non-SEC team to get the championship, you put yet another layer between the on-the-field-truth and any bias that might exist.

How overrated is the SEC? AM should have lost (got raped on final drive ref non-calls).

Georgia loses to an OK B1G team.

Win or lose, Iowa has handed this game to LSU, and is getting absolutely fucked by calls right now, and LSU is struggling with them 14-7.

Georgia really should have won that. Three dropped passes in the last five minutes. That was a gift. On the other two, you may well be right; I didn't see last night's and LSU is playing without its starting QB but is probably overrated this year.

Geez, the Big Ten is awful. See, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin. The trick in bowl pick em is trying to figure out which two games out of 9 the conference will win.

Trying to be objective, and I don't dislike the SEC like many here do, the SEC is definitely down a notch in quality from the last couple of years. Still think they are probably the best conference overall, but not by a lot.

It's the 100th Rose Bowl but only the 93rd that Brent Musberger has seen.

I am not a fan of people that choose to do their own version of our national anthem and slaughter it.

If Mariota's healthy, Oregon's good enough that I'd put the PAC-12 as equal to or better than the SEC top to bottom this year. Everyone else is mostly terrible.

Lol, Michigan St. gets a gift PI to save the drive. Don't understand how that wasn't an uncatchable pass and thus not PI.

You're rooting for the SEC and Stanford today?

I thought we could be friends!

Anyone else stuck at work right now? Sucks to be an accountant at quarter-end.

Lol, I took Stanford in a money pool, otherwise I'd definitely root for Mich St. in this one, though I usually stalk the Big Ten. I don't particularly like the SEC; my interest is purely (a) mercenary and (b) motivated by a general Big Ten contempt. (But the PI call was totally bogus, sympathies and rooting interests aside.)

Pretty sure there were 11 white guys on the field for Stanford just now. Not making any particular point, just don't ever recall seeing that.

So...not only does MSU's DBs kill it but both teams seem to be using some sort of player they refer to as a fullback (sp?)

Funny you say that, because Iowa did the exact same thing earlier today on offense and I thought "that's odd..."

Not sure I understand Stanford's playcalling. They keep running it up the middle even though they haven't gained anything there.

Stanford looks pathetic today. Play calling is a joke and the ol looks like they are wearing roller skates.
