The thing that will hurt Schiano is he was an assistant at PSU when Sandusky was coaching along with Paterno. Another factor is PSU will have a new president and A.D. next Summer. They will go after Al Golden and James Franklin.

The difference in basketball is that 68 teams make the playoffs, where it then basically becomes a crapshoot. So winning consistently enough to be routinely in the top 25 and make the "playoffs" can be considered success at every school except:
-UNC
-Kansas
-Kentucky
-UCONN
-Louisville
-Duke
-UCLA
-IU

At those basketball-first schools, it's about final fours, conference championships, and national championships. Anything less is unacceptable.

Heard on Dan Patrick that Franklin is being rumored for PSU.

From what I can figure, O'Brien will end up either at Texas or Detroit. My guess is Detroit since the rumors before Black Monday all had him as a done deal at Texas.
