Good for TJ!

Now, the east-west shrine game is sort of the lesser version of the senior bowl, but there are quite a few talented kids that play in it every year. I thought T.J. earned himself a senior bowl invite, maybe he did, but this is still a great reward for a terrific senior season.

This is great for him. He will shine in the practice setting in front of scouts. This is bigger for him than the combine and Pro-day, IMO. I hope for nothing but the best for TJ.

NFL Events: Combine Player Profiles - T.J. Jones

ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS
Fluid movement with good balance and body control. Releases cleanly and accelerates off the line. Excellent route runner. Sinks his hips and gets in and out of cuts cleanly to create separation. Adjusts to throws and has soft, reliable hands. Exhibits field awareness and is quarterback friendly. Quick and slippery after the catch. Comes from football family. Durable and experienced. Mature, likeable, intelligent team captain.

WEAKNESSES
Could stand to add some body armor and improve functional strength. Average physicality. Lacks elite top-end speed. Not exceptionally explosive, nor is he a go-up-and-get-it guy. Limited kick-return experience.

BOTTOM LINE
Athletic, smooth-moving, polished receiver who runs crisp routes, has terrific hands and boasts NFL bloodlines. Balanced skill set, dependability and versatility will be valued at the next level, where he could be a productive No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in a sophisticated passing system. Arrow pointing up.

I think that evaluation nailed it. I think TJ can definitely contribute significantly for some NFL team.

He really polished his game up nicely his senior year especially his run after the catch. Excited to see where he lands in the draft.

He would really flourish in an offense that runs a lot of screens and underneath routes.

Really think he would tear it up with a team like the Saints, Packers, Broncos, or Pats who seem to spread it out and value smart receivers.

Hmm...reading that and thinking back reminds me of Earl Bennett from Da Bears.

I compare him to Cecil Shorts from JAX.

Both don't have blazing speed (Shorts is a 4.5 guy, something I suspect Jones will run), but they were/are great route runners coming out of college that have a bit of "wiggle".

Cecil went mid fourth round in '11, I believe that is where Jones' range begins; from mid fourth to mid fifth (Picks 115 - 150)

Him or Jeremy Kerley on the Jets. Not going to scare anybody, but is a mismatch with most nickle corners and will move the chains. In the 4th or 5th you take him and never look back.

Not bad, TJ

Really want the Saints to take him. Him and Brees would do great things with the amount of screens and short routes they run.

I think Jones could've been as good as a 2nd-3rd rounder. With how loaded this draft is though, I'd be shocked if he was taken before round 5. There is an abundance of dominant WRs in this draft.

TJ would be a tremendous 4th or 5th round value, IMO. Easy to see him dropping that far unfortunately for him, but for the team that makes the pick it is pure gold.

Honestly guys i love TJ. But, I'm not sure he get's drafted with how deep this draft is.

If this was last years draft I see him going in the 4th round.

Even if it's a deep receiver draft, I think he'll get drafted. The guy has great hands, plays hard, and I think he runs good routes.

he will get drafted, not worried about that. I think he will FALL to the 5th or 6th round though, which sucks. I was hoping for 3rd.
