I'm agnostic on Pelini staying or going, though I do think Nebby's OOC schedule is incredibly lame, if memory serves, but blaming his mediocre performance this year on the media is pathetic. I'd fire him just for that.

Florida's AD said that they just had a feel about their coach and he was the head coach.

Nebraska's AD said today that Pelini isn't going anywhere. Depending on which quote you see from the press release you could say that he is only safe through the bowl game but I think the entirety of the release makes it pretty clear he will be back next year. After that who knows. He should chill out on his hot-head routine if he wants to be around much longer.

Curious where anyone thinks Orgeron winds up.

Figure he gets a head job, probably BCS conference level. Wake doesn't seem like the right fit though. Maybe Mizzou if Pinkel winds up at UW? Or - this'd be badass - UCLA if Mora goes?

OU's upset of OKS makes the UTX/BU winner the BIG 12 Champ and BCS bound.

Kind of hard to fire a guy with League Championship and BCS Revenue.

A UTX win could piss off a lot of UTX fans.

Weird.

I'm going to route for Texas. A coach that's really old and on the hot seat doesn't seem good for recruiting moving forward. I'd rather have Mack stay than someone new come in.

The Art Briles extension at Baylor really screwed up UT's plans. I randomly wound up in a bar with a number of high-profile boosters and overheard them declaring Briles the Longhorns' coach of the future. No idea what their backup plan is, but keeping Brown around is asking for disappointment.

BU knocks UTX out of the Top 25 with a 30-10 beating. The Bevos will be snorting.

If i am the Texas AD i am making a call to one Mark Dantonio. He could recruit the defensive talent there. Could you imaging that defense look at what he does with average players. Just hire a good O-cord. That is something he has lacked.

Dantonio's a really good coach, but I think that'd be a tough sell to Texas folk. They'll want a big-time name or a hot up-and-comer, and ideally from Big 12 or SEC country. Plus Dantonio doesn't seem like he'd like that sort of spotlight. He's no politician

#16 on Preseason Coaches Hot Seat Fired

#16 on Preseason Coaches Hot Seat Fired

Charley was 2-22 in the first 2 years of UMass's play in the FBS division. Both wins came in the MAC conference.

From the UMass President's release:

I fully support the decision regarding the head coaching position in football. Our program must foster a positive environment in which our student-athletes thrive both athletically and academically. Furthermore, it is critical that in addition to ensuring on-field success our next coach earns the support of alumni, faculty, students and fans. I am confident that UMass football will continue to improve and will excel at the FBS level.”
