Awesome. I can't wait to see the ridiculous offense in the coming years. Especially when Detroit establishes the running game.

I broke my rule regarding reading ESPN's comment section, but I found one I thought was really funny:
Cubs fan: "That's way too much money to pay a WR"
Lions fan: "Listen to him. He's a Cubs fan - he knows all about winning"
Another lions fan: "He's not a WR. He's a decepticon"

Crazy amount of money. Wish I was getting paid 132 million dollars over the course of 7 years for playing football.

Ridiculous money. I support capitalism but when I see stuff like this, I can't help wondering how many ordinary folks or school teachers can afford to take their family to an NFL game these days?

He could give everyone in the city of Toledo, my hometown, roughly $68 every year for seven years. Compared to one person, this is a gigantic sum, but comparing to a city's economy is it actually rather insignificant.

Especially in Detroit

He could give everyone in Detroit $26 every year for seven years.

I think you helped prove BobD's point by comparing an individual's salary to a city's economy. Well done!

If all of the athletes from the professional sports ranks realized that they could get by on a cool million a year instead of these ridiculous amounts, more fans could afford to go to a sporting event. The problem is, they want to earn generational wealth so that they can retire early and their kids can be secure as well. Should we all feel bad for the professional athlete who has to get a job after his 7 or 8 year sports career has come to an end? I don't. Especially since they had an opportunity to earn a free degree while they play the sport they love and then got paid to continue doing so at the next level. I'm not saying I don't appreciate the skill they have and the time they put in to master it. I'm just saying that I agree with BobD that these salaries are ridiculous.

I also realize there is no incentive for the owners to worry about this because obviously someone is willing to pay the prices...

Went to Lions Training camp back in 2011 to watch practice and it was really cool to see Megatron work. Guy just makes running at speed just look so effortless. You know when you watch Usain Bolt run in a heat or whatever and he looks like he is barely breaking sweat 20 yards ahead of anyone else? that's what seeing Megatron run in the flesh is like
