Hope its Rutgers...don't want to see Houston and their spread offense anywhere near our secondary.

You posted this earlier and I'm curious why.

Hardy and Shumate did not make the trip to Palo Alto for disciplinary reasons. Are they also restricted from post season play as well?

ND has experienced an inordinate number of injuries this season, Houston has been more fortunate but they do have a significant player on the NCAA InJury List, WR Deonte Greenberry.

Bring on Houston. Not going to improve the team for next year by playing a weak Rutgers.

Win or loss don't shy away from the better competition.

I think this list would help to answer your own question. We are very thin all the way around. I would hope that we get the suspensions back.

Houston can score...now they did struggle against UCF, Louisville, and Cincinnati (all were losses). I don't know if we are as deep as some of those teams on defense. If we cannot contain their WR, then they could easily score 40+ as they have all season (minus those three teams). That is my major concern. I don't know that we can score to keep pace (although we did against Navy).

Good question. I would think that if Rutgers wins, you will see some deals made with the conference and the bowls. Rutgers going anywhere else would not sell tickets...Houston coming to New York probably does not sell tickets. Keep both close to home and that could potentially help all parties involved.

Technically, however, this game should be for Houston.

According to that article it's the fourth pick... So will Rutgers be the bigger draw???? I think that will be the question ... and what about SMU?? Did they already accept something?

You may see something like:

UCF to BCS
UL to Russell Athletic
Cincinnati to Belk
Rutgers to Pinstripe
Houston to BBVA

That is of course, if Rutgers wins. Otherwise, its fairly straight forward.

Ill bet that if Rutgers wins this weekend The Pinstripe goes Rutgers... Unless they try to sell some classic Cotton Bowl Soup Game Rematch...

We will smoke Rutgers. Houston at least would have a chance of beating us. We REALLY want Rutgers to beat USF and get to play us... right now they're not even bowl eligible.

Rutgers in their last 6 games is 1-5 and has:
-Lost 49-14 to Houston
-Beat Temple by 3
-Lost 52-17 to Cinci
-Lost 28-17 to 2-9 UConn
-Lost 41-17 to UCF

Please let us play the Scarlet Knights so we can beat them by 35+

Knew?

We've always known, Tommy!

IF God wanted The Irish to rule the world He would not have created alcohol.

Well... they were trying to drink it all up those few days I was there. It should be a great time for the Irish fans in NYC. Just be careful.... the areas around Yankee Stadium appears a little rough at night.

Hey, it's the BIG CITY!

I grew up about 15 miles away from THE STADIUM and never heard of someone getting mugged at an event there.

Now I live Hoover where people get murdered after Iron Bowl parties in "nice" neighborhoods.

I'd be happy to not play Houston. There is no way our secondary could keep up. I dDon't want to get burned by Greenberry for a second time.

So we are going to be big Rutgers fans tomorrow?

Hell yes. Ideal bowl game matchup IMO. We will destroy them. Their O plays into our hands and their D is awful. Pinstripe picks them for sure because they will put a lot more butts in the seats.

Beating the hell out of Rutgers would be better for us recruiting in the NE IMHO.

I think Greenberry might be out for their bowl game. I know he is on their injured list.

Excited to have the Irish in town again.

As for the area around the stadium, it's really not rough at all, actually.

Safest big city in the country by far, and there are only a couple neighborhoods in the Bronx that have any serious crime problem at this point. The area around the stadium is not where anybody would want to hang out pre- or post-game only b/c there aren't many really good bars - but it's not dangerous at all.
