By good buddy's cousin plays for Montini. He's on the All State team apparently. I'll see if I can get any info.

Edit: Just sent the text. He said he'll ask his cousin. The kid's name is Tyler Tumpane for those who know Montini.

But it's been said that Nyles Morgan had more interest in ND since they've offered Sykes.

Right ... Ole Miss sees what's going on and is trying to pull Morgan's attention back to Oxford by offering Sykes just like we pulled his attention to South Bend by offering Sykes.

Is Morgan really that sway-able? I don't get these package deal kids. It rarely seems to work out in the end.

Except I think we are legitimately interested in Sykes. We need him for depth reasons. Would have offered him even if Nyles weren't in the picture.

You're right.... Toma and Manti weren't that great....

Not saying they never work out. But have Sykes and Morgan been best friends since they were six? And in that case it was more Te'o bringing Toma along than the other way around...

There's lots of talk about guys who want to play together in college. I get that it's an in for a recruiter. Just most of the time it doesn't wind up going that way.

Right, I don't think we had any idea what an effect offering Sykes would have on Morgan's recruitment. I don't think anyone would have guessed. But Ole Miss has noticed and now is trying to be opportunistic about it.

I know. I was just giving you shit. Jokes are jokes.

Now I feel you. The racists from down south are trying to snipe them with the offer.

I know it wasn't the original plan, but if we land them, it would pay out for years for ND. We have had such a hard time cracking through the trainers and coaches at Core6 even though they are in our backyard. Landing one or both will pay countless dividends in recruiting the Chicagoland area.

Never understood why so many kids will overlook the history of some of these $EC schools in particular Ole Miss, and run down there to play at a program that will continue to exploit them by not doing everything they can to make sure they will graduate.

Uhh, the sec doesn't hold a monopoly on that type of behavior. Schools all across the country have both restricted access for blacks and exploited them...all the while not doing everything they can to make sure they will graduate.

without getting too in depth on this -- the help is there in the academia setting if the STUDENT chooses to seek it out. Student, as in black, white, yellow, orange, and even green. In HS they hold your hand and walk you through everything, College and higher education have support systems in place for students, they generally just do not do dorm calls

with regard to student-athletes, the argument changes, especially in certain schools, but ultimately the support system is still there if you want it

Uhh, It wasn't meant to be a restrictive list, I know that happened/s in a lot of places throughout the country. Although few places are as proud of it as the area largely represented by the $EC. I am just a little perplexed with the love for the Rebels in particular.

I read this:

some of these $EC schools in particular Ole Miss

to be a restrictive (and specific) list.

Uhh.

Uhh, you got me. I meant it as a restrictive list. I did not realize racism or exploitation could exist outside of the south. Nice job.

You wrote a post that singled out a handful of schools and one in particular. I called you on it.

No reason to act like an ass.

Moving on...

The tailgate is reportedly epic. But football players don't get to tailgate. So, the money, you're saying?

They don't get to tailgate, but emotions are swayed when they see the tailgate on visits. Thinking, oh man... this is amazing.... check out all these people partying!!! The thought that they don't get to participate sometimes doesn't cross their mind.
