Not to mention, Hendrix has had almost zero chance to develop- basically zero reps in his career. His frosh year they all went to Crist (new starter) and then Tommy (backup, and then emergency starter). 2011, he got only a few, in limited packages, behind Dayne and Tommy, and last year everything went to Everett and Tommy for obvious reasons. This year I'm sure he's had a few more, but only as the backup, and few or none with the ones. Had any of those situations (injuries, etc) shaken out differently, there might've been an opportunity for him to get more reps, and who knows what kind of player he'd be. Being compared to Hendrix coming out says nothing but sky-high potential, IMO.

Yeah, and my comment was in that way, sky-high potential, but like i said, potential needs to be worked very hard because he is not the type of QB who born with a natural passing game like Clausen, Barkley and look like Rosen in 2015. But if that potential develops, he can be better than all of them.

Hendrix was a heck of a prospect (he was close to flip to Florida and had a spectacular offer list), simply he has not developed. I just only say that he looks like the type a player who is not a refined passer and he needs a lot of development. Rosen now has a more ready game but Barnett may have more potential. Has all the tools, but potential needs to be exploited and developed, if not.. he could be another Blake Bell type of player. He can not be compared with Clausen because they are very opposite as a players, projects and even hype.

Well then you can't compare Rosen to Barnett IMO. They are two different types of quarterbacks.

I understand you. I compare him to Rosen because they are in the same class and Rosen was recruited too (i do not know if the staff will continue to recruit him or any other QB). But yes, very opposite type of players, maybe Town is a more appropriate comparison.

Barnett will do big things. His playing style is best suit for the offense Kelly wants and excels at. He knew he was a fit here, staff knows it too.

You could definitely compare Rosen to Clausen though. I'm sure Rosen will get the same type of hype once the 2014 class' NSD is over.

I haven't watched enough tape of the 2015 quarterbacks to compare Blake to anyone yet. The Marcus Mariota comparison is a very good one though

C´mon

Not saying this in a bad way, but Barnett looks like Hendrix in his HS days. Strong arm (not as strong as Hendrix), making plays with his legs (faster than Hendrix maybe) and similar size, but the same type of player. I thought that Hendrix would be a beast and then he did not made any progress through his career. If you do not believe me, please look the highlights of both. Did not see anything special of Barnett in terms of passing but looks so dominant, fast, strong and has very natural strides while he is running. Some Mariota on his highlights, if he could become in something similar.. that would be epic. Good catch, congrats to the Staff and welcome aboard Blake, congratulations.

Hendrix threw the ball like 10 times his entire sr year. hard to compare these two

edit: ha didn't realize that we were all picking on euro...

was traveling today and opened the laptop up to this (even though we knew it was coming).

1. How much of a boss is Kelly. lands big time qb and simple tweet that says it all:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23WeAreND&src=hash">#WeAreND</a></p>— Brian Kelly (@CoachBrianKelly) <a href="https://twitter.com/CoachBrianKelly/statuses/404724685591441408">November 24, 2013</a></blockquote>

2. LOL @ Biggins:
“@GregBiggins: #UCLA has offered Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle 2015 QB Brian Lewerke, one of the top signal callers in the junior class out West”

Congratulations, Blake... Welcome to the Notre Dame family!

As an aside, do we know much about his QB coach Dennis Gile?

That article I read on ISD was effusive with praise... impressive, though I don't know much about Gile other than the Tebow link.

I think Gile worked with Kyle Allen as well.

Giles has worked with Tebow, Ryan Mallet, Brett Hundley, Connor Brewer, Kyle Allen, Luke Rubenzer and others.

Thanks to both of you. That's a pretty good resume, one with quite a bit of youthful potential. We all remember how badly we wanted Kyle to go Irish. Brett Hundley has looked pretty solid at UCLA.

Saw him some on TV on Friday night. Tall kid but when he adds weight he is going to be even scarier. Good runner but he does need to improve as a thrower and that will come over time. Plays against great competition and his school is a great program. His teammate an OL just decommited from Bama and flipped to SC (don't even want to try spelling) I love it when we get kids from out here and this kid will be a good one
