Good Lord, some of those throws I had to rewind multiple times. A 45-yard sideline frozen rope on the run! Ridiculous that he's not rated much, much higher. His mid-season junior highlights are 10000000x better than Shane Morris' and Morris was (completely undeservedly) a 5-star.

the 3 way QB derby after Golson leaves is gonna be intense. If Barnett were to win you could see 2 quick transfers, though Zaire would be smart to stay the year and 5th year elsewhere. Kizer might decide to stick it out and 5th year elsewhere too.

One player does not make a championship team, let alone 14-22 months before he ever steps foot on campus. Does he he have the potential to be a special one? Hard to say. Lots of love coming his way, but to declare a NC because of his verbal? That's just silly talk.

Normally I would agree, but the QB position has been our undoing in so many instances. This is as big of a get as I can remember. That said, it is early in the cycle.

This is how I feel. Barnett is just so much more athletic than Zaire and Kizer and probably has a better arm than both of them. If he keeps developing I think he'll start as a RS Freshman in 2016.

This is great. It seems to have become the norm for every incoming QBs. I can certainly understand why coaches like to get their hands early on freshmen QBs.

I really like this young man's skill set. He reminds of Kaepernick. Tall, fluid runner, heads up when scrambling, very strong arm, accurate passer...and he only a junior. I haven't been this impressed with a qb recruit since Clausen.

Hopefully Zaire and Kizer stay and develop. That would be tremendous qb depth moving forward. Having one viable option at qb is obviously not the way to go and I like both Zaire and Kizer.

He'll probably pack on about 20 lbs. by 2016, too. A RS year to learn the offense and get his feet under him at ND, and let the competition begin. If Zaire and Kizer are good enough to keep him off the field, we are going to be in really, really good shape at QB anyway. This is awesome.

Clausen was a perfect fit for the Wies offense. I think that Barnett may very well be a perfect fit for a Kelly offense. It's all relative, IMO. I think Barnett ends up this recruiting cycle as a 5-star, top one or two QBs in a very, very strong QB class.

I absolutely love this pick up! The thing that would make this all the more sweeter would be if EG, MZ, DK, and BB all stay and we have a nice lineage at the QB position with none of them transferring. I think they are all great gets and if they all succeed we should have some more special seasons in the near future! We cod use a few more kids at key positions like NT and MLB but otherwise I gotta say I am very happy with Kelly and the rest of the staff's recruiting efforts. Everybody smile, this is a great get for us!
