Dang… local boy. He's less than 20 minutes from the stadium. I played against Berrien Springs back in the day.

Kid is a big fish in a little pond though.

What's the dealio here?

I would expect him to commit if his offer is actionable. That is, if staying close to home is important to him at all.

Maybe we've finally given up on the pipe dream of landing Carter

He's committed, so he isn't the guy Wiltfong has been talking about.

Kid has a great frame and killer attitude while playing. Competition looks terrible but good coaching could turn this kid into a beast. Gotta love the idea of 6'6 250+ coming off the edge.

I'm assuming that the kid Wiltfong is talking about is an ILB

I grew up in the town next to Berrien Springs (the better town) and can assure you that his competition (and own team for that matter) is bottom of the barrel. Most, if not all, of the teams in their division don't even have cuts or tryouts. These are small, rural towns in SW Michigan.

Cowtippers.

Maybe he becomes the next Michael Sam, star pass rusher for Mizzou. Sam was a 6-4, 225 2 star DE coming out of HS.

I know what you mean, I'm from a small town in SE Minnesota where the local football was similar. He'll probably need to be coached up a bit but looks to have some impressive tangible traits.

Strictly a Cat prospect or could he potentially play inside? Has a quick first step but also does a great job of shedding blockers. He's going to have to bulk up regardless but I actually like the offer.

I'd assume CAT LB/DE.

Lol. I didn't think we needed another guy like this in this class, either. I thought if we went after another CAT, it would be an elite guy.

This offer makes me wonder why Sam Hubbard didn't get a look from the staff.

Per Wiltfong it seems as though the offer came as a shock to Williams. When asked if he would check out ND and if being close to home was important, he said he wasn't sure to both. He has yet to talk with an ND coach or staff member. Also said that he hasn't had time to let it sync in yet.

He's listed as a SDE so I would assume he has the frame to put on quite a bit of weight. Kap Moore was around the same weight coming out of HS. My guess is he'll be in the 280-300 range eventually.

Did the staff just decide to take a peak at Mizzou's Front 7 class or something? First Lee, now Williams

Yeargin, Trumbetti, Lee and Blankenship are all CAT prospects? They all have prototypical measures for the position.

Yeargin = CAT, maybe ILB
Trumbetti, Blankenship = likely DE, could start at CAT

Brandon Lee would be a ILB if offered

May as well, they produced Sheldon Richardson last year and Michael Sam this year. Sean Witherspoon a few years ago.
