I have not once said anything about whether or not Martin is soft or what the culture of the locker room is or isn't.

What I am saying, is that IT DOES NOT MATTER. This is a legal issue now and whether you like it or not. There is clear evidence of harassment. Incognito stating that "it was how we handled business" isn't going to save his @ss. I'm insulting your intelligence because you clearly keep ignoring this fact and continue to say I lost some hypothetical argument that I have never actually been part of.

This stuff goes on in every NFL locker room...it's the norm. And yes, i do know. I have some very good buddies with connections and have been in the locker rooms for the Texans and Cards more than once. My intership in college was in a MLB locker room (which was the same). Hung out with numerous players after games.


So while I'm not in there on a day to day basis, I've witnessed the behavior first hand.

The discussion you and I had yesterday was on leadership and whether or not Martin was being "soft" and that the racist and bully terms were out of line. We both were operating on the assumption the Martin was indeed being harassed and you thought it was okay because he needs to be tough. I am not sure where there is a "winning" in our discussion as it was more about the merits of leadership and perceived toughness, but that is okay if you want to run with it. I personally don't think the discussion we had could have resulted in either of us winning.......

the worst part of this whole disagreement is that we accept the full spectrum of circumstances and solutions to these so-called locker room issues. sometimes picking on a guy to fire him up works. sometimes the target should walk away. sometimes coaches should get involved. sometimes a player needs to stand up for himself. sometimes a player needs to stand up for his teammate. sometimes a jackass needs to stop being a jackass.

all of these things are viable options that are better or worse depending on the circumstances. you think we're hard line anti-bully because we don't carte blanche accept bullies like you do. it would be easier for you to see that if you weren't so horribly entrenched in your pro-bully corner that you've backed into. we're stuck trying to flesh out points that show you how a hard line stance on the "bully" discussion simply doesn't work here. the result is a long series of arguments that don't fit into your mold of thinking, so (to you) it seems like we're all against you and we all think being mean should be illegal.

take it down a few notches. you remind me of what i was like around 20 or 21. i often felt i had to be right and win every argument no matter how far i backed myself into a corner. there was no middle ground to give up. it was all or nothing. that's the pattern i see in your posts, whether you want to believe it or not. you have to be able to step back and see that you come off as belligerent. even if you make a good point that makes sense under certain circumstances, you push it too far by stating it as infallible fact in all situations. people don't like that. we're not cowards or quitters for giving up. we're just refusing to accommodate the belligerent jerk who is ostracizing himself, but is blaming everyone else for excluding him.

Martin-Incognito has made it to CNN, not as a sports topic but as another example of bullying in America. They raised the question of the NFL conducting an investigation of the league.

They stressed Incognito's teammates closing ranks behind him and pointing the finger at Martin.



If the NCAA investigated the issue they'd probably require Martin to vacate all his lifetime Participation Trophies.
