True, it'll never get released. The rumors on campus, at least that i've heard, have been all about an accounting test. I've heard this version, that he was looking off someone else's test, and that someone else took it for him. We'll never know for sure unless on an individual basis you get lucky enough to get credible information from someone you know personally i guess.

You clearly aren't very familiar with how ND functions as an academic institution. It was reported that this wasn't his first honor code offense, and if that's the case, he most certainly could have been thrown out for letting someone look over his shoulder on a test. The ND honor code considers a student who passively allows cheating, or even a student who simply sees cheating and fails to report it, as equally culpable with the traditionally understood "cheater".

The information's all in everyone's favorite draconian set of rules, duLac, if you want to check for yourself:

Introduction // du Lac: A Guide to Student Life // University of Notre Dame

It's quite long and difficult to navigate, and also stupid, so here's the relevant part:

Undergraduate Academic Code of Honor // University of Notre Dame

That's another story. If he had more than one offense, then I understand. But to say that he got tossed outta school because someone is looking off HIS paper?

That's just idiotic

And the honor code is a little much. I mean, I get what you're going for...but we lost our QB for a season. Raising a buncha snitches up there!!!!

Take it for what it's worth but my GF's sister who graduated last year said that he was caught a bunch of times doing it so that's why they decided to suspend him.

Maybe he got some $$ too which would make it more serious.

Or possibly the account IrishSpartan gave was his first, and there was another following.

Girls in accounting are VERY type A. It doesn't surprise me in the least that the girl would have gone to a professor.

btw, where the hell is Capital State and they have a footbal team??

Right next to the Buckeyes, in Bexley, I believe. They play amongst a hot bed of small college ball:

The Capital University football team looks to rebound from three consecutive defeats against nationally ranked opponents in the Ohio Athletic Conference this Saturday at Baldwin Wallace in a 1:30 p.m. contest at George Finnie Stadium in Berea, Ohio.

The Crusaders (1-5 overall, 1-4 OAC) were defeated 58-3 at home against No. 1 Mount Union last Saturday. Capital fell at then-No. 24 John Carroll and then-No. 12 Heidelberg in the weeks leading up to its showdown against the Purple Raiders.

The Yellow Jackets (4-2, 3-2) won their second straight affair last Saturday at Wilmington, downing the Quakers 54-7.

While Baldwin Wallace owns a 32-10 advantage in the all-time series against Capital, the Crusaders have won six of the last nine meetings between the two teams. The teams have split the last six games.

Last season, the Yellow Jackets scored 27 unanswered points to start the second half to break open a tight game en route to a 39-16 victory at Bernlohr Stadium. After outgaining Baldwin Wallace 141-132 yards in the first half, Capital totaled just over 100 yards of offense in the second half and surrendered over 300 yards rushing for the contest.

Last Saturday, the Crusaders showed encouraging signs against the defending national champions, forcing a pair of turnovers and blocking a punt, but committed six turnovers and were held to 144 yards of total offense. Mount Union piled up 551 yards of total offense, including 367 on the ground.

"We went through a very difficult stretch there with three very difficult teams, but I'm not as concerned with those teams as I am about our own team and what we're doing," Capital coach Craig Candeto said. "If you turn the ball over six times, you're not going to beat many teams, let alone the No. 1 team in the nation."

Candeto stressed the importance of staying positive with four games remaining on the schedule. He noted the improved play of the special teams, which had struggled in recent contests. Sophomore linebacker Bryant Bokovitz (Gallipolis, Ohio) blocked a punt in the third quarter against the Purple Raiders and junior kicker Travis Bosanac (Strongsville, Ohio) nailed a 36-yard field goal early in the third to put the Crusaders on the board.

Freshman quarterback and leading rusher Chase Longwell (Hilliard, Ohio) led the Capital offense with 54 yards on the ground. Senior defensive back Domenic Hebebrand (Hinckley, Ohio) led the defense with 10 tackles, including seven solo stops.

After allowing a Wilmington touchdown early in the first quarter, Baldwin Wallace scored 54 unanswered points and rushed for 287 yards and six touchdowns in the contest. Josiah Holt finished with nine carries for 81 yards and two touchdowns, while fellow running back Isaac Reed III totaled 76 yards and two scores.

The Yellow Jackets rank in the top five in the league in scoring offense (30.2 ppg), scoring defense (17.3), total offense (358.7 ypg) and total defense (335.0).

Quarterback Michael Slack ranks second on the team in rushing and has thrown for 607 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. Running back Nolan Sordyl paces Baldwin Wallace with 312 rushing yards and four scores. Wide receiver Kevin Johnson leads the team with 17 receptions for 267 yards and two touchdowns.

Linebacker David Flegal leads the BW defense with 63 tackles and a pair of fumble recoveries. Defensive lineman Luke Riemenschneider has 37 tackles and leads the conference with 5.5 sacks for the year.

"They've gained a lot of momentum in the last few weeks," Candeto said of the Yellow Jackets. "They've looked like a very strong football team and they're getting into midseason form. They've gained a lot of confidence over the last few weeks, which is scary for us."

Baldwin Wallace rushes for nearly 230 yards per game and features four different players with 240 yards or more this season. On the other side of the ball, the Yellow Jackets are holding opponents to just 114.5 rushing yards per game. Capital averages nearly 230 yards on the ground per affair.

"We're going to have to control their defensive front seven and stop their running game on the other side of it," Candeto said.

With games against the conference's top three teams out of the way, Candeto hopes the Crusaders can make a strong run to end the season.

"It is nice to line up against teams not in the top 25, but we can't take a breath," Candeto said. "We're in a position where we can't take anyone for granted. It takes a lot going right to win a football game."

Let's not get too carried away, now. It's not like this information came from an official channel at the University, or straight from an Athletic Dept. official. I'm not saying that IrishSpartan can't be trusted, but I don't know him personally, nor is he willing to name names(and probably rightly so). So I will treat it as what it is......... a rumor, until I hear something official. And I doubt that we will ever hear anything official.

Well Damnit, a reporter should hold Kelly's feet to the fire at his next presser. What really happened w Golson, why isn't Bryant getting more touches and is he really a transfer in waiting! I want answers.

Don't forget about if the Paul Longo being fired rumors are true, also!

If the mask is the last thing to come off at the unmasking hour, then you are doing something wrong! Stay thirsty my friend.

Hope he's ready to roll and take over come January

what makes you think he will automaticly will come back in and start its ignorant and disrepectful to the kids to who worked hard and has as much or more talent to be the starter. Also, he beat tommy out not Malik or Kiser? Big big difference.

I agree with you on that. Just because 99% of the fans and the coaches will welcome him back with open arms, doesn't mean his teammates will. Bk and co. always talk about this team as a family, and taking the field with your brothers. With all the effort, blood, sweat and tears the players have put in, to be let down by your QB, the one who figuratively leads your team, the whole trust factor may be hard to repair.

As for the other bit of your comment. Come January 2014, Everett will have started 12 games; Malik zero.

Malik has not taken any game snaps, while Everett has thrown 318 passes.

However, I can understand the argument that Malik has stuck with the program and thus has had the oppourtunity to do what he needs to to earn the starting position, but this staff knows what Everett can do, and even if he is a little rusty to start off, his ceiling is through the roof.

Well....he did take us to the NCG. And he has the experience over both those guys.

So it's a safe bet that he's going to be named the starter, no?

Absolutely agree.

Plus, he's been working wih Whitfield this whole time, so with some reps with the team, he should be a force next season

Keep in mind guys that JoJoBlack's only posts are to talk up Malik and talk down every other QB on our roster. He's basically posted in three threads. This one, Malik's, and the post game observation thread where he tried to trash talk Tommy and say that Malik should be starting.

True, but with a name as cool as 'JoJoBlack'... he has to be taken seriously...

Not to mention he has something that is very rare. He is not big or even super fast he is just so charismatic in the pocket its unreal. He is one of the most fluid looking quarterbacks I have ever watched play. Not saying he is better than them guys. But the kid just has it.

BK says Golson will participate in bowl practices if he's readmitted to ND (but not play obviously). He's expected back in a couple weeks.

What if Rees and Hendrix were knocked out of the bowl game - does BK play Golson or burn MZ's redshirt? ;)

That's HUGE. A month-plus of extra practice should make a huge difference in how smooth Everett's return to the field is, right? I can't see them putting him on the scout team and wasting that opportunity- how much coaching does Tommy really need at this point?

Scout team meaning he'll be replicating the other teams QB, to give our defense the best look possible.

It's Capital University that's in Bexley, not Capital State. Used to take a couple of the boys over there in the summer for wrestling camp.

I can, because Tommy will be going over game plans and working against different looks he gets from the defense.

I have to believe that when EG comes back, he will have to stand up and address the entire team before he starts practicing again. That will go a long way in soothing over any hard feelings that some may have.

Keith provided some insight into Everett's training with Whitfield in his mailbag.

bernhtp: Golson: Training with George Whitfield in San Diego for around six months can’t be cheap. From where does the money or subsidy come? Because Everett was expelled from ND and not currently enrolled, are there any NCAA regulations that cover payments/subsidies for such training or a contract about reimbursement from future income? Given the public profile, I’m sure ND is extra-scrupulously clean here, but I wanted to have some insight into the operative rules and limitations.

Good question, Bern. Having spoken with George Whitfield literally today, I’ve got some insight into that. Whitfield doesn’t just train NFL stars or elite college players. He trains 4th graders and junior high schoolers. Golson spent ten weeks with Whitfield (he went home today), the longest he’s had to ever work one-on-one with a college player.

What it cost, I’m not sure. But it’s not the ridiculous number many are expecting it to be. And the Golson family is saving roughly $60,000 a year on college tuition. Spending some a chunk of money to invest in your son’s professional future isn’t the worst investment in the world.

I don’t know exactly what the NCAA says about relationships like that, but I’m guessing this was triple-checked before the plan was enacted.
