McKenzie's run from Saturday may have some competition.

Looks like that was against Nelson's team in a scrimmage. Peppers is going to be ridiculous.

This was Sportscenter's top play from yesterday. I was very surprised; it just looked like lots of poor tackling to me.

Jabril and his Paramus Catholic team are going to square off against his former team in Don Bosco Prep tonight at 8pm on ESPN 2.

Are we expecting you on the sideline sporting a Notre Dame polo and a pair of fantastic zoomies?

Helluva win by my alma mater. So happy to see them shut PC and Jabrill up.

I watched that game, very entertaining. Peppers had the equalizer in the bag if he wouldn't have been nursing that hammy and fallen down in the endzone. Also, Paramus got no help from their QB lol. I was impressed with Bosco and the schedule that they've played as well.

Was checking on a scUM board. Rumors of him wavering. Hope BK and Diaco give him a call. Word is a SEC team not named Alabama is coming hard.

We can't get him. I'd keep an eye on Stanford and Ohio State... as well as any football factory putting together a big season.

I would rather he stayed at Michigan than him going to Stanford.

As long as he doesn't go to michigan or Stanford, I'm good.

Absolutely. 100 out of 100 times. None of these guys Michigan is recruiting will really effect the game next year, and I want to see Michigan implode as much as anyone, but it's imperative that we keep these A+ level players away from Stanford.

LAX ,
How can we not get him? Just curious. If he can go to Stanford I am assuming it's not academic.

He just might not be interested. It's as simple as that. These are 17-year old kids. Stanford right now is pretty much the perfect place to go as a high-level recruit. They're respected nationally, have the most elite academics, and send guys to the NFL. That's why we need them to go back to mediocrity. For the longest time, if you wanted an elite education and wanted to play for an elite team, you had to choose ND. Stanford is more elite academically and has much nicer weather. They're starting to show some chinks in their armor, so hopefully we can beat them and start a downward slope for them.

He just didn't have much interest in ND. We tried recruiting him... and this was coming off our 12-1 season... and he just wasn't that intrigued for whatever reason. He gave a handful of schools outside of Michigan a visit or interest, and we weren't one of them. Maybe he's from a family of ND haters... maybe he just doesn't like our coaches... who knows.

He visited Ohio State and wasn't blown away. Another school he had legit interest in was Stanford. I think Michigan staring down the gun barrels of 7-5 (and it could've been worse) might have him opening it back up, which could lead him to look at OSU and Stanford a bit harder, and possibly consider schools he didn't previously look at in the SEC and elsewhere.

FSU, Clemson, Auburn, Alabama, etc. all could be places that get a look that previously got no consideration if he does open it back up. Peppers to me always seemed like a kid intrigued by academics, but most focused on early impact, winning football, and good coaching. I really do wonder how much of a look Alabama will get... but the early PT prospects are worse there than anywhere else.

Stanford does have a lot of negatives though that we don't talk about. That's important to remember. But I 1000% agree with every facet of the point you're making.

They should be under .500, and that's not even a ND homer statement.

Against NW, the line wasn't set for a second when they kicked the FG. A flag should have been thrown, and 10 seconds run off of the clock. End of ball game.

Akron WR was mugged on final play in Michigan stadium, no call.

They should be 5-7 right now.

I had heard from a family friend from his times at Bosco that he was always really interested in the SEC, specifically LSU and Bama, early during his time there. That is where those kids thought he wanted to go early on in the process. Wonder if those schools get a harder look.

They have far less actual fan support than we do. Most schools can get good numbers when they are on a hot streak. Stanford kids and alumni are not football fanatics.

Yes, fan support + exposure is a huge negative. They only get a handful of their games on national TV. "PAC12 Network" aims to change that... but no one gets PAC 12 network. Their fans are becoming more and more invested in the program as a neat toy but they'll never have a large fan base, so you lose a lot of those positives. Any negatives you can come up with for ND in terms of things to do + party scene + girls... triple it, and that's Stanford. Transient coaching staff because even with their new endowments from tech gurus and Saudi oil princes they can barely afford to pay their assistants anything close to a competitive wage, and while Shaw might be a lifer at Stanford their HC pay is not competitive to big time schools either. The list goes on and on and on... and it's why even in down years ND won more recruiting battles than it lost against Stanford, and flipped a bunch of their commits.

Good point. If it dropped below 60 degrees, their stadium would be 80% empty.
