Hey you know what?

I had something interesting happen to me today. I got a phone call around two, and an old friend and ND Grad has two tickets for the SC Game for me. He said they were pretty good seats. I remember him saying something, but with the busy fall I have had, I forgot all about it!

I need to figure what the eff to do. One would be for sale because all of the people that I could bring that could pay their own way, would drive me nuts. (A few I know wouldn't or couldn't pay their way, but I am not feeling that strongly.)

I have to figure out last minute lodging and what to do with one ticket. PM me if you want to go. Suggestions on where to stay would be appreciated. I think I am on a losing boat for that one.

If you are coming from this direction, I will drive, or meet you there.

The local talking heads have really made me face palm an unusually large number of times this week… I have heard the following over the past week from guys like Steve Mason and John Ireland, random radio doucher:

“Rodney Pete was 4-0 against these guys”

“Rick Meier threw an INT in the end zone to seal a game one year, I remember that one, it was epic.”

“ND and SC have had the top two recruiting classes something like six years running, at least SC has the sanctions excuse…”

“Bush was one guy, with one parent, who wrecked an otherwise squeaky clean program.”

I swear, it’s no wonder SC fans tend to be completely ignorant on cfb… they hear this garbage all the time…

Of all the games I have seen since 1965, that Eric Pennick run is probably the most memorable moment. His run was down the west sideline, running north towards the students. A huge cascading roar, as loud as the stadium has ever been, erupted as he broke free. We were the two best football programs in the country, but USC had owned us for a few years. It was as if a damn had burst, and that play was an unstoppable force propelling us towards our next National Championship.

Good times.

This is also the last chance ND has to capitalize on the Lane Kiffin era. A win puts Kelly at 3-1 against USC, which is acceptable. A loss puts him at 2-2, which would be embarrassing considering the state of Troy over the last 4 years.

USC won't be down forever. Have to curb stomp them while we can.

Absolutely. We cannot lose this game and a sound beating of USC is called for. And as they get stronger, we must keep the pace. This should be the marquee game in the country every year. A game that every recruit wants to play in. A game that every fan wants to watch.
