My thoughts: We got a good one. He has potential. No way he plays day 1 because CAT is set....unless he's a ST standout. With that said, if this kid is supposedly a solid get at CAT/DE, do you redshirt him his first year or let him play ST? I say redshirt, let him gain the weight, and then put him in the mix after that.

When Grant committed TJ gave a breakdown of why the staff liked him so much and none of it had to do with playing TE so not sure where that came from but I'm not going to think twice about it.

Hypothetically, we could land 4 first-look TEs (Weishar, Luatua, Schultz, and Blankenship) in this class, which would give us 8 heading into the 2014 season if they all work out. Might make sense if we decide to base out of 12 personnel going forward.

But given the # and type of WRs we're still recruiting, along with Golson's likely return, I seriously doubt that's the case. Even if we land all 4 of those guys, they'll likely try them all out at TE, keep the 2 most natural blockers/ receivers there, and move the other 2 to OLB or DE.

the Kelly recruit selection factor.

Recruiting experts are sheep.

Used to be if they picked ND they were looking for a good place to go to school; downgrade 'em!

Now, it means Kelly and staff has evaluated them Robinson, Onwualu, Rees, Schwenke, Okwara, Fuller, etc.; upgrade 'em!
