This next part of the season is going to be interesting. We play a few teams that either don't have solid defenses, or if they do it is against subpar competition. (ASU exposed yesterday.) I think Kelly's staff is working with these guys to develop them. And I think they have a plan. That would be my bet.

Because everyone corrected their (major) pass blocking (except Cam) blunders. If they hadn't that MSU defensive line and Narduzzi blitzing LB's would have exposed them!

So maybe there is a rule. You have to be able to do A, B, and C, before you play, not just D, running the ball.

Really don't understand how the kid can get 0 reps.

We all just assume that these kids are giving their all, all week, every week. But that's probably not realistic. Maybe the kid had a bad week, and loafed his way through practice, so Kelly didn't put him in? Or maybe he had a big test this past week, in a class that he is struggling in, and Kelly wanted to give him extra time to study(maybe excusing him from a few practice sessions, causing him not be prepared for the game)? There's any number of reasons that DON'T involve the coaches being retards, or some kind of imagined bias against the kid.

I don't see BK giving up much reps to the true Freshman until the situation allows (we have the game in hand). I know he has given a few. That being said, I don't know if I see us ever having a comfy lead to do it. He just needs to throw them in the fire if they are ready. They've ran ok when given the opportunity to this point. And the Freshman WRs seem to be there when given the opportunity yesterday. Let em play.

BK has to much faith in GAIII and Cam.

Don't get me wrong i like Cam he is a hard nose runner and has more heart then anyone on this team. But he is just an average back in college football.

GAIII has been a huge disappointment in my book. He can't running between the tackles efficiently and is below average catching the back. He is a good special teams return man but he needs 10 yards to get to full speed. And not very good a blocking.

Bottom line is that he is a true freshman with 3 pretty good upperclassmen at his position. He knew all this before he signed his LOI. If he can't wait a half season or even a full season before he gets meaningful reps then he has the option of transferring. If he takes that option, he will sit out a year (barring a crazy NCAA ruling), and play a lot later than he would here. Makes no sense IMO.

Starting to think GB does what Stanley did last year and redshirts the rest of the year.

Stanley got hurt though, which led to him getting his RS I believe. And GB is too talented to be a 5th year kind of guy IMO.

Yeah. Bryant's appeared in probably every game (he's on special teams for sure). Would he even be eligible for a redshirt at this point?

He must not be ready, or he's not showing enough in practice. If he was the best option, do you think Kelly would keep him off the field given the fact he's obviously not saving him by redshirting?

Just like anyone else, I'm excited to see what Bryant will do once he sees the field...but you've got to prove yourself and have a knowledge of this offense before you can expect to see the field. Folston got carries yesterday. Why didn't Greg? Maybe he isn't putting forth the effort in practice or doesn't have the playbook down yet.

From all I have heard he is showing great promise in practice. I have to assume it is either attitude, blocking ability or something else. It's befuddling to me, though.

I know, it is a bit confusing. It's crazy to think that Cam may be our most consistent and complete back at this point. I had some perceptions going into the season, and I thought halfway through the season that there would be a chance for Bryant to maybe take over after getting increasing carries in games. As of right now it looks like he's getting less and less carries though, not the other way around. I'm all for the best back getting the carries though.

there is a reason but i dont want to start speculating. the fact is, the run game has been anemic, maybe kelly is just giving more touches in practice to less guys. there are only so many reps, right?
focus the attention on the guys that "have it" right now.

That's just it they don't have it!
