He was wowed by Michigan, but it'd be hard not to be wowed.

ESPN Gameday was there. Beyonce did a little video at half-time that went on the jumbotron screens and the half-time show was like a concert with all those LED lights. All the recruits/commits were there. Mark Harmon was there to honor his dad at the pre-game ceremony when they gave Devin Gardner the #98 Michigan Legends jersey. Eminem was even in the house, and when they announced it on the jumbotron/PA systems the crowd went insane. It was a great game, live environment, and all the recruits/commits were there.

But at the end of the day it's just one visit. There's a long, long, long ways to go. This is going to be a battle. Cornell is going to visit ND a couple more times, he's not making a decision any time soon.

All the visit did was make this a real battle. He was a heavy ND lean before the visit, now Michigan is firmly entrenched in this one. The emotions and excitement will die down, and ND will get their crack at him when they host USC at night.

if we don't $hit the bed

on Christian Mingles .com?

Glad you and I are on the same page. Because if that's him I will flip a lid and leave this site. He mention us on the main board the other day. Plus his obsession with us, I hope Tom isn't him but I don't think he would admit to it.

Wiltfong checked with a close source and he is still hearing that ND will be tough to beat. Great to hear.

I don't know this for a fact but I would bet that the source close to Jashon is the trainer (forgot his name) that Jashon, Floyd, and JO all share. I say this because he has always seemed to be very influential in their lives and also very pro ND.

Ted Johnson is the Minneapolis personal trainer/mentor whose clients circumvent lifting weights, such as the bench press and squat, in favor of strength thru calisthenics(jumping out of the shallow end of a swimming pool 40 to 50 times). Another influential mentor in Jashon's corner is ND alum/tight end, Marcus Freeman, who is Dean of Students and assistant football coach at Cretin.

Watching him on ESPN and he doesn't look 6' 4 and I know it's early but slow off the ball...

Not sure i would say slow off the ball so much as not giving 100% effort. Seen him blown off the line a couple times and not even pushing back. Maybe he is holding out on plays he sees going the other direction intentionally but would just love to see the intensity.

I think he could afford to pick up the intensity. Block destruction as Diaco likes to say. Needs to focus on that every play.

He flashed his athleticism on a few plays that I watched. He had 3 TFL. Probably not a great game for him but still solid.

Contrast Cornell's effort and intensity with that of Aquinas sophomore defensive end Nic Bosa. #97(7 tackles, 3 sacks) and Aquinas showed John Curtis what south Florida football is all about in the Superdome last night. Andrew Moten also had a good game against the Curtis veer offense. The Stillwater vs Cretin game was competitive, and both teams are well coached, but I did not see a Div 1 prospect on the field last night. Yeargin plays left defensive end in a 3-4, constant double teamed, and #4 is all over the field and always after the ball in the debilitating heat and humidity of south Florida. These ESPN football analysts must come from the Charlie Weis school of evaluators - I never played the game, but I once roomed with a quarterback who did!

I gotta say, I watched a couple plays last night and every single one of them, he was literally triple teamed. Even for the #1 recruit in country, it's hard to do anything when triple teamed.

Stillwater's blocking scheme was to go power away from Cornell for much of the game. There were no triple teams. Simple running scheme - Stillwater halfback carried the ball thirty or more times up the gut, and their offensive line controlled Cretin's front four - a front four that was not protecting the Cretin linebackers. Their tackle Palecek, in particular, frustrated Cornell. Cornell got all the hype, but Stillwater controlled the line of scrimmage.
Cornell, like Norcross Georgia's Lorenzo Carter in the game against Booker T, was a no show. Declined to be interviewed after the game. Must not have been too happy with his performance.

He's a long ways from deciding but they still feel ND wins out for Jashon. Even after his visit to Ann Arbor a source close to the situation told them that ND will be tough to beat. Expect him to take many visits but ultimately come back to ND.

We need to have a big visit with Jashon. Michigan did a great job with their recruitment with him so far.

outside of not being allowed to stay on campus and having to pay for most everything while visiting does anyone know how much more/less access the unofficial visitors to the gameday experience, lockeroom access and all the other things tied to the visit?

sorry if this doesn't make sense

From my understanding it's the same, except they obviously pay their pay there. I think all that they are allowed to be given is tickets to the game. I could be wrong though
