One cold rainy night back in the eighties, I happened to fiind myself sitting in a small dive of a pub located along the waterfront in a northern Washington Navy town. I was a young Army Corporal that had a few too many whiskey sours, she was a mysterious woman named Tina who tried to entrance me with her flirtatious ways. I don't remember ever seeing her legs as she was sitiing in that dark poorly lit establishment. The thing that haunts my senses to this day about Tina, is that Tina smelled like tuna. Maybe they do exist?

A few things.

Is a mermaid a fish with a human upper body, or a human with a fish lower body? Serious question.

I took my boys for a bike ride yesterday, and as the 3 year old was in his tow behind cart he asked what we were doing and where we were going. The trail goes for about 2.5 miles thru the woods. I told him we were searching for Sasquatch. He spend the entire time looking and was disappointed that we didn't see any. So was I.

Did you expect more from a guy whose self proclaimed best friends are michigan fans?

I gotta stick up for him on this one. My closest friend is a Michigan fan, actually 90% or more of my friends are Michigan fans. Its sad and depressing. But I do atleast live in Michigan.

In the last 30 days I've been:

1) Called a troll for asking why a poster called out my OP that said 'IMO, Latham > Rochell'.

2) Asked to be banned for arguing that player positions on depth chart shouldn't bump their thread, and instead create a central thread for all depth chart discussion (this was my greatest crime - I went too far to prove my point).

3) Called a troll for saying 'IMO, I don't see how we can say our 2nd string DL is the best in the country'.

4) Neg repped for the 'Cam Mcdaniel - Bruised ego - Day to day' joke in the injury thread.

5) And now, asked to be banned for asking how Discovery and other 'informational' channels can knowingly allow documentaries that are made up, and portray them as the truth.

And I've been called plenty of names along the way, but never myself stooped to the level of calling people names. Not once.

So if you want me banned, want to label me a troll, to send me some neg reps, all in hope that I'm leaving this site, I think it's obvious that you're wasting your breath and this is my stance:

I'll be here for a long time guys. Get used to it!

Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Don't feel bad man, they got plenty of people when they first aired this, but that was months ago. I just found it hysterical that months after, they get one of my IE brothers. Chin up and all that.

Oh Kuenja... You keep acting like your post was based off of your desire to know "how they could get away with presenting this as a documentary", but when I read the original post, its clear that you were wondering if it was true.

Moral of the story... You thought mermaids were real.

No one really wants you banned. We're just having a little fun with this. Chin up, buddy.

Dude, I was totally caught up in the moment, and was grasping for answers. I mean, I'm totally ignorant about how much is true about documentaries, but I really didn't expect Animal Planet and Discovery Planet to knowingly show made up 'footage'. That pisses me off.

So when you have a lot of respect for these informational channels, and you don't know they openly lie about footage, what would you think?

If they ever tell me that Jeremy Wade's show is made up, and some alien looking fish is created by hollywood and set on the hook, I will lose it.

The docs about marijuana on the Discovery Channel weren't "made up" but they weren't exactly honest...

DC just aint what it used to be

That's really disappointing. I always viewed Discovery/AP as 'educational/informational'. Now they're no different than SciFi? Just dumb.

So now I can't believe any documentary that's not on PBS? Lame.

I happened to watch this show today.

What the hell? They have a lot of footage. Has anyone dispelled any of these videos?

I can't believe I'm questioning this.

The Megalodon doc during shark week was same sort of bush*t fraud documentary. If you created a thread saying was that true maybe you could get a little more leeway in regards to being deemed a F*cking idiot.

So you think the megladon story is more plausible than a seal-sized animal with a tail fin that resembles a 'mermaid'?

Color even me confused.

I said they were both bullSh*t. But to answer your question: Yes, I think a 2 million year old extinct shark is far more plausible to be roaming the sea then a mythological women with a dolphin fin consuming half of her body.

Well, Meg is a real creature. Or I should say was. So she has that in her corner.

But I made it very clear that I didn't think there could be 'intelligent life' in the Ocean.

I never said anything about a mythical 'woman' living in the Ocean.

I said I wouldn't be surprised if there's an Ocean animal that resembles our idea of a 'mermaid'.

Here's my exact statement from page 1:

"I'm not saying there's intelligent life buried in the bottom of the ocean, but there could very well be webbed animal with a tail that resembles what people think the 'mermaid' is. I mean, we really don't know much about the ocean to this day. What's to say there's not an animal that has that body type?"

Dolphins are intelligent. They kidnap girl dolphins to use as sex slaves and make them hunt for them. Smarter than us imo.

Two days ago, this girl showed up naked at the Statue of Liberty. For Alan Bauer, it was love at first sight. Now, everyone is chasing her... trying to prove she's a mermaid.

Madison lives!

There were no females recorded born in 1983 with the name Madison but after the 1984 Disney Documentary, Splash, about a real life mermaid, the name skyrocketed. Now there are a couple hundred thousand Madisons in the U.S. alone.

Joe was in the process of driving from school to school, looking for Nate.

You, sir, are one chauvinist, misogynist, fishogynist*, Flipper philandering fool!

*Yes, I know that dolphins are mammals and not fish, but I was intent on ridiculous alliteration.
