The NCAA probably paid him for his time also.

6 hours? What the hell did they talk about for the other 5 and a half hours?

Yeah, seriously. You'd have to be going into minute detail. If I'm the NCAA I'm asking him to explain every single autograph signing and why he would've done it for no money. Then I try to find any time that he lied and use that as grounds to suspend him.

I'd just ask him for an autograph and when he was done I would slip him a 20. If he takes it... boom! Force of habit tends to make ya do things...

Did you guys see their HC's presser today?

They asked him about the Aggie honor code (An Aggie will not lie, and Aggie will not steal, etc.) and wanted to know how they could possibly let Manziel play without violating that code.

It was a terribly uncomfortable back and forth.

That was uncomfortable to watch... I had to pause like five times during the question.

I'm getting more and more angry/scared that this douche bucket will be the catalyst that brings down college football as we know it.

None of the pundits are angry that he broke the rules, they're only angry about the rules themselves.

It's like everyone is completely fine with the idea that universities are merely the minor leagues for professional football. The value of tuition, books, room, board, and (what should be) a world class education doesn't mean shite.

Somehow we've become comfortable believing that everyone is Manziel with a rich family, or a Clowney who is a world class talent. Everyone is forgetting that 99% of these kids won't ever see more than 2 years in the pros. Football isn't going to carry them... An education will.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but this jerkoff's legacy might just be the demise of a sport I love.

Johnny 'Football' indeed.

A big part of why I love CFB is that the players aren't paid. They aren't employees. 90% won't make the NFL, they're playing because they love the game. JFball is just may be the person that pushes that to change, and the person that ruins it for me if he does. Honestly until this whole autograph thing, what he is and what he had done hadn't bugged me. I feel quite the opposite now. He's a piece of ****.

Its like you could see the wheels churning in Sumlin's head and nothing was coming out of his mouth. I love that the ESPN journalist called out their Aggie code of honor on such a national stage.

You are so write. No one says they have to play college football to get an education. They know the rules before they step on campus.

Love it.

Sumlin should be a politician with that response. He spoke for 2-3 minutes and never said anything. So much for the Aggie code of honor. I think they shelved that when they joined the SEC. I wonder if the A&M president is related to the guy that was president at SMU back in their heyday?

IMO, that is the dumbest possible thing A&M could do. Regardless of their motivations for it people will view the suspension as proof that the allegations have substance. If the NCAA does eventually levy punishment then it will be more than sitting out one hal of a football game and this gesture won't help A&M on the field.

The first half will be for the excessive signings with the knowledge they will be sold in the future. They are still refuting that he accepted money himself.

It's going to be the first half against Rice. It doesn't matter, he'll get owned this season. No way he's mentally or physically ready to play after this offseason.

Good. The long national nightmare is over and my Bama/A&M ticket value didn't plummet.

This is kind of a pointless who cares imo. They could have suspended the 1st team offense and steamrolled Rice.

According to ESPN's "source," this half game suspension closes the book on Money Badger's recent issues. Really? Really, NCAA? I hope not, that's pretty sad punishment. Half game suspension against Rice.

Agreed, this is as dumb as vacating games for using ineligible players. Either he did it or he didn't. Either it's a violation or it's not.

I agree, very well said. In fact I was watching PTI on monday and thats exactly what they were saying (its not manziel's fault, its the stupid rule) and I thought exactly what you posted. Combine this with what Steve Spurrier said is going on behind the scenes and it might be coming sooner than some think.
