We play 3 of the Top 10 toughest D Lines this year (Arizona State, USC, Stanford). We also play 2 others in the Top 25 (MSU, scUM). This will be a test for our OL for sure. Arizona State still screams trap game.

That might just be correct. We may find out that Clowney is a 'roider, or that he has some other equally significant skeleton in his closet, but.......... he is likely to be the most dominant college football player in the country, in the coming season.

I couldn't disagree more. It's one guy - double team him. The rest of their line is good, but our four guys (putting Shembo in there) is a better line. Period.

Manti or Hubbard and Mosely I guess would be the best comparison. Or Allen and Bullough

Probably go Mosely and Borland. Borland is like a more instinctive shorter Carlo though.

I cannot fathom how you rank ND anything other than #1 on this list. Day projects more disruptive than KLM. Shembo projects 4th round NFL draft on top of two first rounders. You completely undermine the purpose of ranking A UNIT by granting #1 solely on one player and a huge drop off after that.

This. No NFL owner would choose Clowney over Nix and Tuitt.

This is what I was thinking about when I saw the ranking. Clowney is bar none the best player this year, but it remains to be seen if he's going to completely carry a defensive line that replaces half their guys.

It's a simple no-brainer for anyone. Tuitt and Nix are first round guys. Shembo will be drafted, as will Day. Clowney is a STUD! No argument there, but the sole reason they're number one? Lousy.

I'll take Alabama, USC, LSU, and Stanford's line over SC all day.

I don't know, but USC has their #1 ranked WR core because of...guess who? We apparently don't have a WR core that ranks in the Top 25 according to Athlon. Same with RB. I think our LB group was ranked #9, and #19 for OL.

ya, definitely do not agree with SC at #1. I would gladly take two 1st rounders, a mid rounder in Shembo, and an eventual draft pick in Day over just Clowney.

Not sure I agree with U$C and scUM being so high on the Dline. Especially scUM, their Dline is not very dangerous in my opinion.

I'm not getting into the Nix & Tuitt or Clowney debate, but certainly some other guys on SCars line will get drafted.
