Anybody else think the degree to which Mora is openly calling out a just-got-here freshman is a bit odd?
I didn't realize the vaunted UCLA defense was in such rough shape that they have to have Eddie logging major minutes from Day One. He's more or less calling him a pussy for being injured. I've a hard time imagining Brian Kelly doing that, at least in public.

I think Eddie went here because "he looked at the depth chart". Now he has to catch the feces that comes with high expectations and "early playing time". "Hello mom? It's me Eddie...Coach yelled at me today and my back is sore...not sure this was such a good idea...has coach kiffie called lately?...can I come home?"

CF Live is at ND today on ESPN 7 or so.
Just talked about how a Frosh with back problems is a big concern... EV may be a lemon.

It translates to, "We paid you a lot of money to leave ND and come here, we expect you to play even if it means you'll be in a wheelchair by your junior year."

i dont think Eddie has the composure to be a bell cow for UCLA this year. Man he woudda been better off at ND learning the ropes and getting eased in gradually. Its all going to crash and burn for him I believe.

He should buy some Vagisil and get back out there with his team.

That would be a misdiagnosis. What he needs is Cranberry juice. Cue the clip, it's a classic.

Please, cue the clip. I grasped the gist of the comments from the context (and "getting" sarcasm) over time, but never understood (or cared to research) the origin.

Oh, and I'd recommend Midol as a first step with Vagisil as a fall back.

Aww...I feel so bad that poor Eddie has a bad back.

(I don't feel bad that Eddie has a bad back.)

It's my understanding that a certain SacBee reporter has been talking to EV and his family and a bad back is not the whole story. He can't say what the reasoning truly is at this time, but when it does come out in a press conference to be set up in the vague near future THEN everyone will understand as he has a very good reason for being injured and missing practice, and he is sure that the NCAA will overturn his injury on appeal.

I actually thought the post was serious until "in a press conference." What does that say about the EV/SacBeeJoe ordeal?

I brought this up with a couple of posters in PM. They thought I was trying to insult Eddie. It explains a lot. This behavior, seeing UCLA as close to home, so as not to have to break ties is just about on the mark. Most Asperger sufferers are intelligent, think Big Bang Theory on TV. I think if EV has a spectrum disorder it would be more along the lines of Aspergers:

Bingo...
