I saw "Ted" for the first time. It was funny and enjoyable, but I don't see the need to watch it again. I think the collaborative feature film process helped to reign in some of Seth McFarland's more self-indulgent tendencies. And, even though it's a movie and you're supposed to suspend disbelief, I couldn't buy that a successful, smoking hot women like Mila Kunis' character would stay with Mark Wahlberg's character. But I guess McFarland figures that women will drop their standards really low to stay in a relationship.

I also watched "Uncommon Valor." I hadn't seen it in a long time, and it's held up well. I credit that to the movie being quick-moving and straight forward. There's not a lot of political hand-wringing over Vietnam. The guys just get together and go in to rescue POWs. I recommend it.

Jack the Giant Slayer and Despicable Me 2. I really enjoyed both. Good family movies, although Jack the Giant Slayer does have some...slaying in it. Some young ones may be scared.

Watched Pacific Rim, im usually into those type of nerdy movies but other than charlie days part i really didn't like it. Also just rented oblivion, other than the fact it has tom cruise in it i really didnt mind it. The soundtrack was awesome

A few movie i cant wait for this fall are out of the furnace, lone survivor and the wolf of wall street. I usually tend to like smaller movies with less special effects, im worn out on the summer popcorn films. Was it just me or was this a terrible summer for movies??

I watched Man On The Moon over the weekend. I don't think I even got close to understanding what went on in Kaufman's mind. Great acting, weak plot.

Disappointing movie. Such an interesting person made boring by a conventionally made, paint by numbers biopic.

Seen We're The Millers, pretty damn hilarious. First comedy in a long time i actually laughed out loud multiple times throughout.

Also just watched Unthinkable again with Samuel L. Jackson. Hell of a good movie there too.

Just finished watching the movie "The Iceman" about the mob hitman, Richard Kuklinski.

It was pretty good, I would recommend it, if you are into mob movies. Although the mob doesn't seem to be the main focus, rather just his life is. But then again that is what the movie is suppose to be about anyways, with a sprinkle of mob life.

I watched "Pain & Gain" last night. Fun and involving. It's definitely a Michael Bay movie, but given the subject matter, the over the top approach works. The Rock does a really good job, he has some acting talent.

This time of year, I usually watch some of my favorite sports movies to get me fired up for Irish football and for the NHL season that is right around the corner.

Had to break in the new 60" I just bought. Thursday night will be Rudy, but last night I watched Hoosiers. That is such a great ****ing movie! Gets me choked up every time! Just an awesome film.

Saw the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug on Sunday. Thought it was about a 7/10. Not as good as the first. Visually stunning but too little action. The third Hobbit movie is set up to be awesome though.

Saw Anchorman 2 today. Really really funny. Good mix of homages to the first movie and new jokes. There were like 4 people in the theater but we were all laughing out loud.

Also saw some older movies this week on TV:

Deer Hunter: 9/10.
Bringing up Baby: 9.5/10 considering how old it is. Really funny.
