I saw on Tigerdroppings that she isn't actually trying to get out of her LOI but she has an academic issue with eithier LSU Admissions or NCAA Clearinghouse

A&M 247 reported this today. Said if she doesn't qualify for the fall then she will sit out a year and not attend LSU and will end up at either Texas or A&M. Tony will not go to LSU if his sister is not there according to them.

An academic issue with LSU admissions? Wouldn't think that would even be possible. It's an SEC school.

TideSports.com - Tony Brown arrested

Aaron Suttles TideSports.com

University of Alabama freshman cornerback Tony Brown was arrested Saturday night on charges of failure to obey and resisting arrest.

Brown posted bail, which was set at $1,500, and was released Sunday.

Brown enrolled at Alabama in January as one of eight early enrollees. He was rated a five-star prospect from Beaumont, Texas, choosing the Crimson Tide over LSU, Texas A&M and Texas.

"Coach Saban is aware of the situation and will handle it appropriately once he has a chance to review all of the information," UA Associate Athletics Director for Football Media Relations Jeff Purinton told The Tuscaloosa News.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department released the following statement Sunday night about the incident.

Incident at Campus Way Apartments
Tuscaloosa Police responded to a loud party and underage drinking complaint at Campus Way Apartments (301 Helen Keller Blvd) at 12:53 am on 1/19/14. Officers arrived on scene and located a large party at one of the apartments. While investigating the complaint officers found probable cause to arrest Chavis Taylor for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. As officers were walking Taylor to a patrol unit a large crowed (approximately 40 individuals) followed and gathered around officers. Officers told the crowd multiple times to disperse. Officers warned one individual (Tony Brown) multiple times to back up and leave the parking lot. The individual would walk a few steps away and then would walk right back towards officers. The officers warned the individual that if he did not leave the parking lot he would be arrested. The individual yelled threatening profanity at the officer and stepped toward the officers again. At the time the officer grabbed the suspect to take him into custody. The suspect pulled away resisting officers. Officers used pepper spray on the suspect and forced him to the ground and took him into custody. Both suspects were transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

AKA he won't do jack shyte about it since he's still a promising talent and Bama desperately needs a superstar at the CB position...

Bama opens against WVU, FAMU, USM, and UF. Saban could sit him for the first 4 games (5 weeks) and not miss him.

I expect he'll miss the opener ala Rees and Calabrese.

Gettin'' in some trash talkin' and stalkin' drills in the off season and got sent to the overnight penalty box.

Nothing quite so stupid as an 18-year-old freshman away from home for the first time. I'm glad I never did anything stupid my freshman year!

Seriously. Not even that big of a deal. I mean it wasn't a smart decision, but he wasn't drunk, wasn't doing drugs, and didn't hit anyone. It was probably his buddy getting arrested and he was trying to make an impression early on campus by staying near him.

If a police officer tells you to leave, you do it. One of the stupidest things you can do is taunt anyone who enforces the law. Right, wrong, or indifferent they hold all the cards.

Couldn't agree more. I'm just saying, for those of us that say "he fits right in," it is a little misguided. I know it's in jest, but when I popped open the thread I was expecting drunk/disorderly conduct.

They also hold, the mace, taser, night stick and hand gun.

kids make mistakes all the time, I see it happen every day; but resisting arrest and disobeying a lawful order says something about your personality... Not sure I would play this off as "kids being kids." Literally none of my friends from college or anyone I knew in college made such a mistake...

You guys are serious?

Menacing a police officer repeatedly? That isn't a big thing?

WakeUp, I don't think I would ever repeatedly move forward toward an armed man that has every right to shoot me, and claim I was sober!

I had a kid once on spring break with a group. One kid pushed back. Or didn't get out of the way quickly enough. He was through the fence and over the hood. And just for principle the biggest guy was singled out. He was through the fence, over the hood and then some. Not a thing anybody could do. They resisted.

One of the hardest things in the world (they were told - some parents consulted with lawyers skilled at this) is to overcome multiple affidavits filed by police officers. You need something really concrete like clear video evidence, showing that all of the police were lying. And that doesn't happen. Meantime back at the ranch, he who resists may only be able to muster a toothless smile.

Maybe he will just let him "work it off" during the offseason. It's not like he is a receiver or anything.

You don't know Saban very well. Remember Geno Smith and his DUI? Kid barely seen the field most of the season after being slated as a potential starter going in to fall camp. It remains to be seen what happens with Brown and how his situation is handled. But this I know... it won't be a pleasant spring or summer for him.

He resisted which was wrong/ Never should have taunted in the first place. However, it is not that uncommon for an 18 year old kid in this situation, with a big group around, to make this kind of showing. I saw it a ton in college when frat parties or large gatherings downtown would be broken up.

At least he didn't run, get caught by a cab driver and then knee the officer

My impression is this is accurate with Saban.
