1. To directly answer the question. Yes when talking to an ND reporter he said that ND would make his top 5 and then never put out a top 5. The real issue that many have here and what the writers are starting to pick up on including the guys at II is that he very rarely if ever mentions ND to non ND reporters. He just spoke with Ole Miss 247 reporter 4 days ago. No mention of ND. He mentions Georgia, LSU, Clemson.
2. My understanding is that he took a trip to GT and spoke with a reporter after the trip. He names a top six that doesn't include ND. It gets posted on twitter and gets a lot of attention. He then realizes what has happened and calls Loy to let him know that we are in his top 3 to 5.
(This part is more opinion so I'll put here). The issue here isn't are we in the running for Andrew, it's where are we in the recruitment. If we were so solidly in his top 5 we would be getting mentioned every time he does an interview (which is a lot) like Ole Miss and Clemson have been. I don't think he has any idea of what he wants at this point and that includes ND. He just told the Ole Miss reporter that he'll be deciding before the season and be done then tells Loy that if he doesn't visit this summer he'll take an official. He's telling fanbases what they want to hear but there are constants and that is Ole Miss and Clemson. In conclusion we have a shot but it's a much longer shot than some expected and we need a visit to change that.

Williams told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution today that he has no top 5, no favorite and won't make a decision until after some official visits in the fall.

I won't be surprised if the last school he visits gets his commitment.

totally agree with this. I can see it happening and his recruitment going right to the wire. Also seems like the kind of kid who could transfer too down the line. Not sure he really knows where he wants to be yet.

This is the type of guy who I would hold very little weight on if he wer to commit to us or anybody at this point in the game

The #$ means he got a bag of cash right?

Can't open the picture. What was it?

Just a picture of him and another recruit sitting on some steps, presumably at Auburn. Don't know much about that school's campus nor the other recruit...sorry I can't really add much to it than that.

It's just a picture of him and Raekwon in construction vests and hats infront of the Auburn sign. It's taken down for some reason.

The primary reason for the post was the hashtag: $. He's gettin bags o money.

He's really milking these visits... sheesh. They aren't supposed to get free meals and stuff like that on unofficials are they?

Everything comes out of the recruits wallet during an unofficial. Well that's how it's supposed to be

That's what I thought... I was just double checking. I feel like this kid is on a trip every other weekend. Are kids from ELCA parent's that well off?

These kids are probably riding there with a friend, a parent, a coach, a family member, a friend's parent. They usually stay with somebody they know at the school. So done this way, what are they paying for. A few meals?

Most of these trips (regionally) aren't that expensive. All kinds of high school kids do it.

I wouldn't call Knoxville regional. Auburn is 1.5 hours from ELCA. UT is 4.

But I see your point.

Assuming Williams drove to all these visits this weekend, here's what his schedule would have looked like:

Thursday night/Friday morning - Atlanta to Oxford, MS - 330 miles, 4.5 hrs drive
Friday night/Saturday morning - Oxford, MS to Auburn, AL - 295 miles, 4 hrs drive
Saturday night/Sunday morning - Auburn, AL to Knoxville, TN - 320 miles, 4.5 hrs drive
Sunday night (assuming he comes back tonight) - Knoxville, TN to ATL - 215 miles, 3 hrs drive

That's about 1,150 miles and 16 hours in a car over a 48-60 hour period. Crazy. His parents or football coach must really love him. Or, he is driving himself to these places. Either way that's a busy weekend.

Yikes. I did something like that spring break junior year of high school. I started in Cle, drove to Philly, saw a few schools there, drove to Ithica, then Buffalo, then Pittsburgh. Then flew to and from Stl. All just for campus tours and visits. It was cause my parents hated me. That trip sucked.

Should be interesting. He likes so many schools, so I'd say it's 50/50 if we are in his Top 5.

This guy get's a bad rap from posters on here. He's not being a "tease", he just happens to like most schools he visits, and enjoys the recruiting process. Having the handful of reporters paraphrasing and altering his words when he's doing interviews pertaining to schools on his list is what has been hurting his image on here.

I'm still very much interested in how his recruitment will go down and in fact, if he will be Irish. Which is what I hope!
