Schools everywhere fail to report/follow up on sexual assault claims so they don't have to report them as statistics on campus crime. It's simply a tactic where the school/campus police/DPS ignore the issue as being "official."

OCR is investigating similar Title IX offenses at UC Berkeley, UNC-Chapel Hill, Dartmouth, Swarthmore and Occidental colleges in addition to USC.

With all of the Wire mentions on IE lately, it seems as if I should finally check it out.

Dude...do it NOW!!!! Best series I've ever seen on TV. Watched it in its entirety twice, and I'd get sucked in in a heartbeat again if I came across it.

As for this S. thing...uh oh. Did they sell their souls to the devil in exchange for the insane Petey era? Bad things happening over there man. Looking forward to delving into this deeper when I get minute.

It's only one of the best shows I've ever seen

Hey man, been studying for CPA so not a lot of TV time outside of trying to catch some sporting events. If I do watch a tv show its on demand and I fast forward through the commercials.

Still can't get a quick synopsis?

I quick synopsis doesn't really do it justice since its kinda complex and the different seasons cover different topics arising from the city of Baltimore like the illegal drug trade, the school system, & the city government etc.

That was a awful synopsis but u should still check it out

It's about the narcotics industry, paralleling the decay of an urban city, shown through the failing institutions of ghettos/streets, the ports/unions, the political system/city hall, the education system, and the media.

That's the quick overview.

It's a lot more than that though. Perhaps the greatest series I've ever seen. It is truly an amazing show.

Warning-- it is a slow moving and, honestly, quite depressing drama...but captivating and enticing nonetheless. If you don't have much patience or an ability to hold your attention throughout the series, then it may not be for you.

Yeah but it helps to know channel for on demand.

On Direct...I believe it is 1501...I just get there via the menu button and scrolling to on demand and looking up HBO Series and hit the record button

It was on HBO, but I don't know that it matters. It has been over for almost five years now. You can watch basically anything on the internet if you care to look for it.

Long story short, it follows a number characters over a number of years, and others throughout the course of each of the five seasons. It is primarily focused on a dozen or so Baltimore cops, but it branches out to cover a number of different topics by focusing secondarily on the drug trade, unions, schools and the media. The thing that is unique about it is how it weaves all those seemingly diaconnected things together. One of the best analyses of the show is called "All the Pieces Fit," and that is really the best way to describe it. It is phenomenally complex storytelling, but remarkably easy to follow if you are invested. (And I think it would be hard to watch more than a few episodes and not be totally invested.)
