The crazy thing is that one of those listed is dang near a lock and we have positioned ourselves well to be in play for a class filled with great skill players on both offense and defenses.

Who do we lead for?

First, I think he was kidding. Second, if you understand Polynesians and their football culture, this tidbit is not amazing. Native Americans in the NBA would definitely be amazing.

A child born in American Samoa is 56 times more likely to make the NFL than a child born in the United States. What's amazing about that statistic - until 3 years ago, when the statistic was created, they didn't even play football until freshman year of HS.

Very, very unlikely but all it takes is a good season and a visit

I was going to say, the guy from ESPN just went on for about a 45 seconds on how ND is someone to look out for Brown.

Yeah I'm watching lol. Crazier things have happened though. It only took 2 weeks to get Greg Bryant and at this point last year no one had Max Redfield to ND

Haha... I've been drinking and typed that completely out of sinc. Both were Mckenzie. Bad edit on my part. We don't lead for any of the other dudes.

I bet your butt puckered for a second though...ha

Jeebus... That's crazy. Any ideas on why? I could understand if they had major development programs and intense competition, but outside the kids playing in CA, a lot of these kids are playing high school ball in places like Hawaii. Some even without pee wee or club teams before high school. Even when you look at the kids in CA, they are still quite disproportionate from the other races in the state.

I saw a special on this years ago (60 minutes?)... bottom line is genetics (+ some other factors that really seemed like window dressing to me). A high percentage of Polynesians are just thick, muscular, athletic, football-body-type people. Certain groups of people are pre-disposed to be awesome at certain things. Alternatively... there is a reason why there hasn't been a white CB in the NFL since.... Seehorn?

They were made to play football. Physically, their bones are huge and they are naturally strong. Mentally, they come from a Warrior culture and they are fearless. The numbers I presented from Am Samoa would be even higher but their education system is fcuked and many of their athletes don't qualify and get lost in the JuCo system.

Another interesting statistic is Utah and Hawaii have the 3rd and 4th highest ratio of HS players to FBS signees in the country (Florida is #1 and Georgia is #2). American Samoa would be #1 by a LARGE margin if they were included. So, the three 'states' with the biggest concentration of Polynesian players are in the top 5.

Hawaii should go undefeated every year then, or close to it

38 kids on their roster aren't even from Hawaii. Place like MN, CO and IL have players represented. Those states don't even have large Polynesian populations.

Enjoying the linemen competition much more than the 7 on 7 to be honest. Seeing these guys go at it is fun
