Per Wiltfong, The Spartans (as well as the Buckeyes) are confident they land Jones.

Even though we would have to play him, I really hope he picks Sparty over OSU

When he loses Braxton Miller, OSU will become average -- just like the Gators when they lost Harvin. I think they lose two games this year with Miller behind center.

At last count, I thought they had at least 8 guys that were going to be the next Percy Harvin. At least that's what they told them when UFM was recruiting them.

When they lost Harvin? Meyer lived on Tebow (who was a great college player) and his defense (Charlie Strong is a fantastic DC). Meyer was a win against Bama from playing for his 3rd NC and 2nd in a row (Harvin was already in the NFL). Saban owned him in the SEC title game though.

I think this one was easy to see coming. When we got Bars and recruitment of Jones stopped, I was kind of hoping he'd go to OSU. I'll watch him play for OSU /w my father-in-law, and won't have to watch the Irish play against him at Michigan/Michigan State.

I would say they're not sitting too shabby right now. I like our OL better in the coming years, but they'll do well with Jones, Jones, and Trout. They need a couple more guys, but they'll have a good line in a year or two here.

Those guys can't contribute immediately though. OL usually takes 1-2 years of growth to become a solid starter in college football. If any of those guys get injured or don't pan out OSU has scary depth problems.

Like with your checkbook, offensive line development is a lot harder to play catch-up than stay even or ahead of the game. Get behind, and you have to start playing freshmen. Play freshmen and quarterbacks get hurt. Don't get quarterbacks hurt!

Jones looking at MSU. Part of the reason he picked pOSU was due to Vrabel who is now with the Texans.
