Camping at ND this month and ND is a offer he really wants as he grew up a ND fan per Barton Simmons. He also said that he has always played Center and that's what schools are recruiting him for.

In years past, I don't recall this many ND fans being highly rated early camping/visiting ND. You've got Jack Beneventi, Hale Hentges, Jerry Tillery, James Morgan, Jake Fruhmorgen, Tristen Hoge and to some extent Jashon Cornell.

This kid tore up the NFTC in Oregon last weekend. He ranked as the #3 performer according to 24/7. Strange that the services are rating him as an OT when he plays OC and is being recruited as such. His commitment would be a great way to start the 15' class.

Free Link to the Top 10 performers from the Eugene Nike NFTC

3. OL Tristen Hoge - Pocatello (Idaho) Highland (2015)

Hoge showed up with virtually no eIxpectations from media and coaches alike. About halfway through camp his name started circulating and the buzz was born. This class of 2015 offensive lineman flashed unreal potential as he anchored down the center position through most of the drills. Hoge measured in at 6-foot-4, 270-pounds but carried almost no bad weight. There is little question his early four-star status wasn't justified at Sunday's NFTC.

Guaranteed the cold won't scare him away! He certainly looks the part.

Are they saying he is a 5-star, or did they mean "was" justified?

P-Town or we call it Poky or Pocahellhole can get into the negatives for a couple to a few weeks on end. :) so I think South Bend he'd be fine

Idaho Players at ND

Idaho Players at ND

Have we ever had a player from Idaho? Someone google it. ;)

The best player at ND from Idaho was Ernie Hughes G from Boise, Id and All American on 1977 National Champs. Played in the pros for NY Giants

Hughes absolutely kicked the crap out of the Texas DT who had won the Outland Trophy(forget his name) in the Cotton Bowl that the Irish won 38-10

other Irish players from Idaho:
Sam Finegan HB from Boise played with Knute Rockne 1911-14

Aaron Robb Fl from Coeur D'Alene played on the '88 National Champs

Mike Falash Qb mentioned by another poster was hurt but wouldn't have played much anyway w/ Joe Montana around

Dick Hughes-Ernie's little brother also was a heralded recruit a few years after Ernie but was hurt and never played-although he stayed and graduated from ND

Kipp Bedard WR was a hot shot recruit in 1977 for the Irish but transferred to Boise St where he was a very good player and always billed as 'a transfer from Notre Dame'

Falash doesn't appear on the ND All-Time Roster ("played at least one second in at least one regular season varsity game")

Jim Brady from Pocatello was Starting QB in '28 (5-4, Rock's worst season).

Offered by Penn State after their camp on Saturday. He is ranked the #6 OT in the 2015 class but should be ranked the #1 OC. I think he gets offered and commits before leaving campus.

Would be surprised considering our low o line numbers for2015

I agree on the low numbers as I mentioned in another thread (Fruhmorgen's I believe), but this kid is an absolute STUD and he can play any position on the line.

If the staff agrees that he is versatile he might get an offer if not and there are questions I can see them holding off

Interesting, that means he has been more impressive than Fruhmorgen and Veal
